Love it.
As a long time owner, around half a century, of Super Session I purchased this on a whim. Played it. Loved it. Enough said.

Brilliant blues cd 💿
This is a very enjoyable cd featuring the blues guitar playing of Michael bloomfield, I really can't fault this . Probably the best player I have ever listened too in this genre. There are great tracks too to listen too, one clocks in at a mean 15mins or so. I did say a probable the best , I should have said the best!!! He was a brilliant musician for sure, beautiful melodic phrasing on the laid back blues numbers.

Mike Bloomfield at the top of his game
If you like the blues you must have this CD. In this concert Mike Bloomfield is simply at the top of his game, fantastic guitar player. One of the best blues guitar player we ever had. And then you have a great supporting band and great vocals by Nick Gravenites and Taj Mahal singing on two songs, yes on two songs! Because he is guesting on One More Mile as reported on the credits, but in the CD there are two hidden bonus tracks: If I Ever Get Lucky (a fantastic slow blues with Taj on vocals and Mike with his guitar on fire) and the instrumental Stronger Than Dirt. So you have 9 songs and almost 70 minutes of great live blues. I think this is enough to buy immediately this CD !!!

Mike Bloomfield was the best guitarist of the 1960s not named Jimi
Alas, this is only a three star review as it is a bit scattered. Bloomfield again relies on old chums like Nick Gravenities when he could have used the boost and inspiration new faces would have provided. On the other hand his playing is ace but the tunes are hit or miss. His slow blues are great and Carmelita Shuffle swings like the Basie Band in full flight but this could be a bit better if someone was on hand to musically kick Bloomfield up the bum.

Remember Bloomfield This Way...
Mike Bloomfield was one of the most cultured of Blues guitarists. He never enjoyed the fame or notoriety that the likes of Peter Green or Eric Clapton, and his death in the early eighties - drug related - ensured that for many years his legacy was under-acknowledged. However, in recent years, what with CD reissues and an excellent Sony Music Box Set, Bloomfield has been rigthtfully re-appraised. This concert recording shows the breadth and variety of Bloomfield's magisterial guitar work, and he is fronting a great band, too. It's worth getting as much Bloomfield as you can - he rarely disappoints!
