Perfect fit with my snub m637, i paid full price for this item.
Many holsters exist and it is quite difficult trying to find which works out best for your pistol. Comprised of Black Carbon Fiber, this system is stable and sturdy. Instead of Nylon or Neoprene, this holster is made of a more solid. It does not scratch the metal slide. A simple button allows a lightning fast release with your hand in the ready to fire position. The weapon cannot be removed unless you push the button and slide the weapon up. Placing the gun back into the holster is easy and seamless (I recommend that you practice, unloaded, before you try this with a chambered bullet). No visible metal components do allow for a perfect profile without any type of discernible sound when walking. You can hang your pistol on the belt or by the included paddle attachment. The paddle hugs the holster closer to you than the belt attachment. With the paddle, there is more equal weight distribution, allowing for a more comfortable carry and less strain on your pants/belt. It does seem to hang quite low for me, and the only way that I can see this working out for concealed carry is one of two ways: 1) Coat that is below the inseam 2) Shirt that is fit larger than average shirt (untucked), such as a sports jersey (i.e. Hockey, Baseball or Football Jersey). Carrying on the belt attachment keeps the gun even further from your waistline, making the gun obvious to an astute observer. This is not an ideal holster for concealed carry given the width without a jacket. I know of people who use this for Open Carry - where it is legal to do so (Florida is not one of those states) - or people use it on their own property or on a firing range. I am aware that some Rangemasters and Firearms instructors disallow the use of this specific holster. One caveat that I have read is the possibility of accidental discharging of the sidearm when drawing the weapon or returning it to the holster. If you release the gun with a straight right index finger and lift up, this is unlikely. Additionally, it is important to perform drills when drawing your weapon, unloaded, to ensure that you are entirely familiar with this safety system. It is with constant practice that this becomes second nature. Under tense situations; however, under duress or panic, a user can mistakenly fire as they draw their weapon. When it comes to a holster carry, I feel very secure given the low likelihood that the gun will come out on its own and it has a quick release that does not hinder me from drawing my pistol. The cant can be adjusted in 3 positions (vertical, forward or backwards). Blackhawk items are modular in that they can fit other configurations for dozens of uses. That flexibility with its unique design was my major decision to purchase this. There is a lot of versatility with this set up.Overall, I personally, enjoy wearing my pistol with this holster but the caveats exist and it is up to you to decide if this fits your purpose.Happy Shooting to You!

Excellent OWB holster, not very concealable
UPDATE: I found that this holster also fits the FNX-9 pistol, but not perfectly. In order to make it fit, remove the single passive retention screw below the active retention button. Reach inside the holster and remove the rounded flexible plastic insert that provides tension inside the holster, down by where the barrel goes. Then replace the passive retention screw, you may have to tighten it a little more than before in order to get it to work. Your holster will still work with the Springfield XD service and subcompact, but you may have a little "wiggle." This does not affect retention, the pistol will not come out unexpectedly, just doesn't feel as tight when holstered. Removing this tab allows you to insert the FNX-9 pistol. If you don't remove the tab, you will have great difficulty removing the FNX from the holster, as the tab will get caught in the groove that runs down the front of the frame through the Picatinny rail, where the serial number is etched. This would probably work for the FNX-40 as well, as I understand the frame is the same size, although I don't own one and couldn't test it.ORIGINAL POST: I own both the Service model (4" barrel) and subcompact (3" barrel) and this holster works for both. The area of each pistol that comes into contact with the retention points of the holster (trigger guard, upper part of grip, slide width) is the same, the only noticeable thing is the extra inch of holster beyond the end of the barrel when you pair it with the subcompact pistol. Retention is excellent and adjustable with a single phillips screw. If you're not familiar with the Serpa holsters, there's a tab you press on the side to release the lock so you can unholster. The tab is easy to press, but if it's not pressed that weapon WILL NOT come out of the holster no matter how hard you pull. A half dozen practice draws are all you'll really need to get the hang of it.As far as fit and comfort goes, it doesn't hang so far out as to bump doorways and such, but if your chair has armrests you may find yourself in a tight spot, or you might hit the bottom of the holster on an armrest as you're sitting down. I would hesitate to call this a concealment holster. Unless you're wearing a sport coat or jacket, this holster does protrude far enough to cause your weapon to print through most shirts. You can choose from three mounting angles, from about 15 degrees forward or back, or straight up.
