My Son's Most Treasured Book
Since his return to Earth, Buzz has written, spoken and led efforts to raise public support of space exploration. This book is part of that effort. It is well written and illustrated, perfect for kids in grades 3-5. My son and I traveled to Washington DC to meet Buzz and ask him to sign this book, which he did. It is now his most treasured book and he loves to go back and read it. Buzz may have been second to make a bootprint on the Moon, but he is first in leadership for the advancement space science.

Excellent Reading for Youth!
I have twin nephews, who like their uncle, are 'Space Nuts' in a nice sort of way. They live out of state, so getting this book for them for Christmas was a natural from Amazon. The book was written by Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, who made history be being on the first landing on the Moon in 1969. Buzz is a great communicator to share his experience, and he never seems tired of it, even in his older years, and by writing this book, his visions of Spaceflight carry on to perhaps the first twins to either step on the Moon, or else head to Mars, together.

extreme success story
Fantastic, frank, candid!Buzz Aldrin demonstrates how different people can be, and how competence in many fields does not guarantee competence in all areas of life. He had his human struggles while being extemely competent technically and physically. He'd reached amazing milestones while still in his 30s (moon walker) and then had trouble making sense of the rest of his life. The story has a happy ending though (it's not over yet) and is worth your time for many reasons.I heard Buzz speak at a NASA sponsored event (2007 Regolith Excavation Challenge). He is 80 going on 20.

Good Space Book
My preschooler wants to be an astronaut, so I thought a book from an astronaut would be a great gift idea. He loves it, the illustrations are beautiful.

Beautiful and inspiring.
My kids and I love this book. It's a beautiful story, beautifully told, and with beautiful illustrations. We learned a lot about the technological developments preceding and giving birth to the moon mission. Lots of interesting info, and an inspiring tone. Highly recommend.

Best book we've read this year.
Oh my gosh! Just a wonderful book! My space mad son adores this book and so do I. The text is informative but not at all dry. Parts of it are autobiographical, parts are science history, parts are wonderful speculation, and all of it is informative. The pictures are lovely and really held son sons attention. The quotes tucked away at the bottom of each page add an extra layer on to each page - beautifully encouraging thought or discussion.not a picture book for really tiny people though unless they are space fanatics already!
