Geo. F. Trumper Sandalwood Cologne in Glass Atomiser Bottle, 50ml

Believe the hype: I got this after noticing the great reviews it got on Fragrantica, and indeed, this smells every bit as good as I’d hoped. Warm and comforting and classy — it’s probably the best Sandalwood Cologne around for the price.I’d call it Masculine but you could probably call it Unisex (though I don’t find it Feminine).If you’re looking for a great affordable Sandalwood scent to shave with, try Proraso Red.Most will find this better suited for cooler weather.

Sure it doesn't last as long as some other colognes I've tried, but they don't smell this good, and it's a scent that is good when it's subtle.Starts off a hint perfumey and then mellows into an enchanting smell that words like "musky" can't really encapsulate. It's like the best incense you've ever smelled without the smoke. One of those smells that can't really compare to anything but itself.Looking for something that wasn't too loud either in an aggressively masculine or overly floral way, and this is spot on. It's subtle, warm, and intriguing.

This is a great sandalwood scent that smells like it has a bit of citrus worked in. I prefer sandalwood scents in the spring/summer and cedar scents in the fall/winter. This covers the former just fine, provided the scent lasts.I like that it sprays too. Hate cologne that comes in bottles that don't spray/mist.EDIT: I still like it, but my wife believes it smells like body odor, lol. I think it just smells like sandalwood to me, but I did downgrade my rating by 1 star to account for the fact that the person who most needed to like it did not.

I was a fan of the Everyman Jack sandalwood cologne but they discontinued. A Philistine like me could not find anything close but this one was the best I could find. Wife like the smell and that is all that matters.

I believe this to be a fake. First of all it is 50% less than what GFT Sandalwood cologne goes for (which is a hint in a-half, but I took the risk anyway). Second of all, when I received the box, it was not wrapped in cellophane (as all new colognes should be). This indicates that either the cologne was shipped used, or it is a fake.The easiest way to spot a fake cologne is by the cellophane packaging. Most fake manufacturers have substandard perfume box wrapping cellophane machines. If you receive a box of authentic cologne from a reputable perfume vendor (such as GFT), the box will be well wrapped and the cellophane will be very tight to the box. A loss fitting cellophane covering is a huge hint that your cologne/perfume is a fake.That being said, this vendor didn't even both to wrap their package at all in cellophane.Another good way to spot a fake is to look at the inscription on an authentic box and compare it to the box your cologne comes in. If you look in the picture THAT'S ACTUAL USED FOR THIS PRODUCT ON AMAZON the front of the box should say the following under the name Geo F. Trumper: "Perfumer Established 1875 9 Curzon Street, Mayfair, London 20 Jermyn Street, St Jame's, London." This one says "1875 Perfumer Mayfair and St. Jame's, London." This cologne is well know for it's heart dry down. The heart should have a very strong amber/vanilla smell with huge projection and sillage. It's longevity is enormous (you can smell it on your clothes 24 hours later). This cologne has none of the heart dry down and disappears after about 3 hours.
