Jazz Duets for Saxophones: Book & Online Audio Paperback – March 1, 2004

I really enjoyed playing the songs from this book especially it allows me to practice without partner with the help of the CD. They are all new fresh songs written by Bruze Eskovitz and Ernie Watts. The CD covers all the songs in this book and helps you to hear how they play. To allow the CD accompany your part, you can mute the part that you want to play by sliding the balance slider to the left (mute second part) or to the right (mute first part) on your stereo.It's really great for intermediate level student, not recommended for beginner. If you love playing jazz, it will help you to master the improvisation and give the idea on applying the improvisation to any songs you play.I wish they sell the full band accompaniment CD or the piano accompaniment book.

This is a great book! My duet partner and I have played the whole thing. Quite challenging but very musical pieces. I’m using it with my students as well and they love it. The rhythm challenges and practice duets are great teaching tools.

Love this book! It’s really fun to play these pieces with my instructor. When my instructor isn’t there it has a play Along CD.

Great book to work with beginners starting jazz.

A friend and I use this book for sight reading jazz charts. They're fun to play. I don't remember if this is specified, but they're pretty tricky, starting from an early intermediate level going up to some pretty dicey stuff, but not so insane that you become overwhelmed when practicing or sight reading. Great book.

The CD with it is really good. It's like having a private instructor.

This is one of my favorite saxophone duet books -- very creative, musical duets, presented in a wonderful, progressively challenging format. The CD is easy to use, and the tempos are not too fast. Lots of fun!

The CD works really well and allows for playing the duet in Eb or Bb with or without another "live" player. The practice duets give some idea of what to expect in the full tunes, and the music is graded from (to my mind) reasonably proficient beginner to experienced player level.This means that it will be a useful resource for many months, if not years to come, and should allow me to develop my playing skills considerably over time.

its a very good book to aid rythmn and sight reading. Duets are pleasant to play and listen to.Will stretch most pupils, just ramp up the tempo and watch them wriggle.
