In Aunt Lucy's Kitchen (1) (Cobble Street Cousins)

I have always loved the Cobble Street Cousins books and read them countless times to younger kids in my life. When I was looking for a gift for a 7-year old girl who enjoys reading, this was an easy choice!

Not happy. I got it used, which I knew but it said it was in like new condition. The pages were wrinkled and the book was written on.

This book was recommended by the book Strategies That Work for a course in intermediate literature. It helped to teach text-to-world, text-to-text, and text-to-self strategies to my second grader.

This is one of our favorite children's series. Cynthia Rylant is a great author! Try out her Henry and Mudge series and her Mr. Putter and Tabby series. Christmas in the Country is one of my youngest daughter's favorite Christmas stories (also by Rylant).

Granddaughter like reading this story. She had a book report to do on it. 2nd grade. It was easy for her to read and comprehend. It is not an adventurous story, just about girl cousins on summer vacation, start a cookie company, and the people they meet.

This is the other book that I sent to our Granddaughters. The first being "A Little Shopping) As I stated above, the books were so well received that they asked their father for the rest of the series. He was only too happy to oblige. I felt like I hit a home run with this gift.:)

I LOVE this book! I did a literature box on this book for a class and fell in love with the characters. It's about 3 cousins who live w/ their aunt for the summer while their parents are on a ballet tour. They go through different adventures, facing each one with courage, ingenuity, and wit. They contain great character ed models. I would recommend to any 1-6 grader(especially girls) who like a good read.

Great for young girls to read. My granddaughter loved getting them. I hope she will gain confidence and be content to grow up "in time" and not rush so much but enjoy each day as it comes. So glad to find good books for her.

A very good story not too long. Just right for my granddaughter. I would recommend this book with no problem.

Rylant's use of language to describe characters and setting appeals to the reader's senses. I bought it for a mentor text to use with grade 9 students. It would be better to use with younger students.
