Playing with Paints - Watercolor: 100 Prompts, Projects and Playful Activities Paperback – Illustrated, December 10, 2019

I have been using YouTube & Pinterest for watercolor inspiration as I'm learning, but I wanted a book to reference. It doesn't have complex landscapes or many real-life paintings, but has mostly doodle/abstract projects. Every page has one or two bright, fun designs to copy or use as inspiration. Great for watercolor journaling!

I wanted a book that was for a beginner who was intimidated by other beginner watercolor books. I wanted to use bright colors and draw whimsical, beautiful, uncomplicated paintings that make me smile. This is the absolute perfect book for me. The author's style is so friendly and down to earth. Love it!

Will help any young artist learn the basics. My daughter loves this book

I'm having so much fun! I've looked at and read a number of watercolor how-to books, and they all start out beyond where I am. This book starts at the very beginning with fun, simple exercises to give you a good feel for what the paint does and what you can do with it. It's a lot of paint-pushing without having to make a picture.

This was very helpful for learning some basics with watercolors and getting some experience with different techniques. It inspired me to try out a few more colorful designs that I otherwise might have assumed were too complicated. Lots of illustrations and good explanations.

I really love this book! Im fairly new at watercolor and theres alot of projects in this book thats beautiful and easy to do for me. To me the cover of the book doesn't do it any justice, i was hesitant at first to buy it i think because of the cover made it a little childish, but i guess like they say Don't judge a book by its cover.....

This is extremely basic for someone who has never done any watercolors before. It’s not at all what I was looking for. I just thought it was inspiration.

The artist/author shows so many creative ideas that are also approachable for anyone willing to try. Her kind encouragement is a powerful motivator to start painting, which I have. I would recommend this book to anyone for the fun, knowledge and inspiration she shares.

This is an amazing book. You can try all the projects not only with watercolor paints, but also with markers. Really good projects for a person who lacks artistic skills.

That's not what I expected. I'm a little disappointed. Only few projects are interesting for me but I guess it's a great way for real beginners enjoying with watercolors

I loved this book. It was recommended to me as I am a beginner wanting to learn more about using watercolour. There are a lot of useful tips and exercises to help you get to grips with watercolours. I would definitely recommend this book for beginners.

What a great book! I purchased it because I am a teacher and was running a watercolour painting extra-curricular class and wanted some student-friendly ideas. This book had great ideas that I could use with my students, as well as many projects that I will do myself. It also introduces some foundational techniques and the colour wheel. Would recommend!
