Review: Comfortable - perfect for colder Florida mornings - This jacket ended up being a winner for me, and I was delighted to find this particular one. I was trying to replace an aging 'WeatherProof' jacket which had sleeves a bit too long with me and I had tolerated for years. I was looking for something that had some insulation (not paper thin) and was comfortable with the right sleeves. This Red Kap jacket ended up being the ticket. First off the insulation ended up being a little thicker even than I imagined, and the outer material was a nice canvas style quality. The lining was soft and quilted, and not itchy. Also, the sleeves are cuffed, but the cuff is hidden inside the material, so the cuff is not visible. I usually do not like cuffed sleeves, but this one is unique, as the cuff keeps the warmth in, but is hidden by the outer canvas style sleeve. I'm 5' 7" about 160 lbs and went with 'Medium' and it is just perfect. The sleeves end right at my wrists, and the fit is nice. Not baggy, but not tight either. I can wash my hands with the jacket on and not have to worry about 'pulling up the sleeves' or having the sleeves ride down. For Florida, I would say this jacket is absolutely perfect paired with a short-sleeved shirt for about 62 down to 48 degrees (62 degrees to 48 degrees). It might be a little too thick for a morning in the (62, up to 70) degree range. For that purpose, I have a London Fog non-insulated windbreaker which takes the edge off but not too hot. This Red Kap jacket, for me, is good from low 60's down to upper 40's or so. And it really feels comfortable outside when its in the 50 degree range (for me). Your tolerances may differ. If it's really really cold, I might wear a thicker flannel lined jacket with a flannel shirt, but rare for here. The majority of the time this Red Kap hits the sweet spot for a January Florida morning. Not to mention the comfort was better than expected. For the price I paid, I got better overall than I expected. I would buy it again. Also, it's made in Mexico, it came packaged in a sealed bag, but there is no tag on it. It seemed new, but whether it was used or not I couldn't say as the quality was better than expected and I'm keeping it regardless. 9/10. There were a couple of loose threads to trim upon receipt, but it was no big deal. The jacket serves it's intended purpose nicely. The inner pockets are nice too. I like the elastic cuffs, it makes for a more insulated feel. And the flap covering the zipper is by far my favorite feature, I never worry about the zipper getting caught or scratching any car when I’m working. Overall a nice jacket. I ordered a large which is my normal size and it fits just right.
