Works great with fountain pens
Great quality, smooth writing with a fountain pen with no feathering, bleeding, or ghosting using an extra fine nib and wet ink. Séyès ruled is working wonderfully for practicing my penmanship. Only drawback is that the spine/backing material can be stiff making it difficult to lay flat.

Great paper. Lines are darker than expected.
Great size. Fabulous Clairefontaine paper (fountain pens LOVE it). Only down side is that the lines are bolder than I expected and are rather distracting.

paper quality is top notch
This product is excellent to improve handwriting skills. We are using it for homeschooling dictation lessons. The paper is thick. The only thing I would prefer is a spiral binder. It is not cloth bound. Mine is plastic coated tag board

I love this notebook
I love this notebook. I write with a fountain pen and the paper takes ink well. Even writing slowly, it doesn't get too blotchy. The french rule is great for working on my handwriting. The binding seems to be nice. It's much nicer than a composition notebook, but it's not quite bound like a hard back journal. I'd love to have these pages in a hardback journal. If this were lost or ruined, I'd buy another one.

Great paper. Binding interferes with the writing on the left page; the paper does not lie flat.
Paper is great for fountain pen ink. It allows you to write with very wet pens. When writing on the back side of the paper (left side), the end of the line becomes difficult to write because the binding is too tight. It would be nicer if the notebook were offered with a spiral or bound on the top.

Love this Notebook!
I have just discovered French ruled paper, and I absolutely love it! No complaints about the book, except that spiral bound would be much be more convenient. Nothing wrong with the book. It is like any other clothbound book would be. For what it is, I really like it. The paper is of good quality for dip pens and fountain pens. The cover is sturdy. I will buy it again.

Outstanding paper for use with a fountain pen
The 90 gram / sqm paper excellent for wiring with a fountain pen. I use a Pelican M1000 wide nib fountain pen with generous ink flow. The nib glides smoothly and the thick paper does not bleed through. Clairfontaine paper is the best.

The paper is great, the spine is not
As other have said, the spine is a weak point for this notebook. The paper handles fountain pens beautifully, but it's not the easiest to write in. The more you press down to flatten the paper, and the more you open it, the more the paper tears away from spine. As you write on the left side of the book towards the spine, the paper will have some give unless you brace it with something underneath. I would have chosen the top spiral bound, but Clairefontaine doesn't allow color choice, and I didn't see this ruling. I don't see this lasting through me writing all the way through without the papers eventually tearing free. EDIT: Took another star away. I'm 21 1/2 pages through the book and pages have torn free from the binding and many more to follow. The pages themselves are still fine and usable but the notebook is falling apart. I will not be purchasing this notebook again.
