This is the best cookbook I’ve ever owned
This is definitely the best cookbook I have ever used in my life. We have made at least 20 of these recipes and each one is amazing. Vegetarian but lots of gluten free, dairy free, or dairy free option recipes. Every single one is so delicious, I put a bite in my mouth and just release a string of expletives in disbelief of how good it is, “Effing eff this is so effing good this is the best thing I’ve ever effing eaten.” Every. Effing. Time.

BRAVO!
This is an unassuming cookbook full of unique vegan and vegetarian recipes. I cook a lot, and have many, many cookbooks. Rarely do I find one with recipe after recipe that I want to add into my rotation. What I really like is that they are easy to follow, don’t take a lot of time and the ingredients are accessible.BRAVO!

Great vegetarian food
So far all of the recipes we’ve tried are great. We have not tried the Indian recipes yet, and I would estimate that this book has more Indian recipes than any other “East” country. Many are fairly simple but come together as bigger than the sum of their parts. Highly recommended!

Overwhelmingly fantastic
I'm vegan, and it's a very rare thing for me to buy a non-vegan cookbook. But I got this out of the library, and it was really fantastic, so I bought a copy. Here's what I've made so far: carmelized fennel and carrot salad with mung beans and herbs, rutabaga laksa, ben ben noodles, peanut butter and broccolini pad thai, mouth numbing noodles with chili oil and red cabbage, white miso raman with tofu and asparagus, clay pot noodles with beets and smoked tofu, shitake pho with crispy leeks, udon noodles with red cabbage and cauliflower, food court singapore noodles, honey soy and ginger braised tofu (I used agave syrup), chile tofu, spring vegetable bun cha, mashed potato paratha, and black dal. Everything was good, almost everything was extremely good. There are still many more recipes that I want to try, but I've think I tried enough to write an informed review. The book is beautiful, very high quality with pictures for almost every recipe. Some recipes call for specialized ingredients. I started with the ones that didn't, and I was so enthused by the results that I started picking up the ingredients I'd need to make the others.Someone commented below that you have to convert from metric in order to make the recipes, but that isn't true, at least with the version of the book I received in the US.Highly recommended.

My one complaint - but big for me
Great cookbook, when you take the recipes in isolation. My biggest compliant is the lack of a descriptive section to discuss unfamiliar ingredients. I have had paneer at restaurants - and I know I love it. But I don’t BUY it or COOK with it. Where do I get it? What do I look for? How do I store it? This is just one example, but it’s a disappointment. She’s so good at explaining her recipes, but I buy cookbooks from professional cooks (rather than on-line whatever) because of the knowledge and know-how they bring to the table. (Pun intended). Great recipes, though.

Best vegan cookbook- in fact my favorite cookbook ever
I cook for a large crowd of old and young mostly vegans. I have made almost everything in this marvelous cookbook Without fail, the recipes are delicious, beautiful and easy to make. So many recipes including the Bombay Rolls, Summer Pilau, Napa Cabbage Okonomiyaki and Food Court Singapore Noodles have become staples I return to again and again. I have at least a hundred vegan cookbooks and I would trade them all in for this one. I fell in love with Meera Sodha with her India and Fresh India cookbooks but with this one she has created a masterpiece. I have given many copies away to friends and family. My copy is already looking so well loved, I may need to buy myself another copy. Thank you Meera for bringing us flavorful, bright, fun and delicious food for the whole family.

A beautiful book!
Everything about this cookery book is brilliant! The photos are stunning and inspiring. Well thought out content, explanations of types of ingredients and added bonus of names of suppliers online. Love it!I would like to add, I’m not a vegetarian or vegan.
