I really enjoyed this movie about the WW2 french resistance and the french mime, Marcel Marceau.

Based on a true story, this is one of the most thrilling resistance movies I've ever watched. There's a scene where Marcel Marceau/Marcel Mangel's character is leading a group of Jewish children to safety through treacherous terrain with the Nazis breathing down their necks... while I couldn't breathe at all. You have to see this film to believe it.

I met Marcel Marceau when I was seven years old during summer camp at Interlochen.He was an old man at the time but I remember the sparkle in his eyes as he looked down into my little girl eyes filled with excitement as I was about to make my first s'more inside the girls' practice theater. I will never forget the utterly childlike look in his eyes -- filled with wonder and whimsy -- that was so unusual for a man of his age.Furthermore, he was just as captivating performing on an outdoor stage viewed from the last row as he was up close.This film educated me on the circumstances of his life that likely developed the kind of deep empathy and emotionality that he infused into his endlessly entertaining mime depictions. I think this film did a great job of informing what Marcel endured -- and the bravery he exhibited -- during WWII.Jesse Eisenberg does a pretty darn impressive job depicting the late great Marcel Marceau. As impressed as I am by Jesse's talent and obviously well-honed craft, I don't think anybody alive could truly replicate the spirit and abilities of Marcel Marceau (I think they'd have to go through what he went through to become who he had become). Additionally, the other actors in this film were also really top notch - especially the sister who survived the first encounter with the Nazis.I'm so glad this film was made to commemorate such an extraordinary man of such heart, soul, bravery, and fine artistry. There were one or two scenes that I don't think needed to be included -- like the conflict between the commander and his wife in the apartment -- but I would still recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Marcel Marceau.

Movie Review: "Resistance" - 2020Inspired by a true story, this movie was just released and is an excellent, riveting and realistic portrayal of how back in the early 1940s the suppressive nazi regime steadily removed freedoms, rights and liberties of entire countries, whose people could not confront the evil purposes, blatant lies and insidious actions of the nazis who instilled fear in the populations of European countries, paralyzing the people and then easily killed millions of children and millions of adults.When watching, keep in mind the evil purposes of the current day suppressive forces who are using similar fear tactics using the Big Brother News/Lies Media to paralyze Americans (and peoples around the world) into accepting the words and official statements/lies of the "experts and authorities" who are "ordering" our entire populace to stay inside and don't leave your homes, don't travel or go anywhere, shut down your businesses and don't produce or earn money, don't get too close to one another, wear unhealthy masks that do nothing to protect you from the virus.All this to prepare and brainwash these fearful sheeple to accept a government approved "toxic chemical soup of killer drugs vaccine" that these experts and authorities are saying will keep you safe from a non-existent virus.... thus carrying out their mandated vaccine plans, while they target, censor and destroy individuals and groups who protest, oppose or resist their tyranny and then they can follow this nazi/pharmaceutical model and easily achieve their One World Government plan of killing off hundreds of millions of our fellow human beiings to "cleanse and reduce the population" so they can more easily enslave and control the surviving members of mankind...For myself, my family and many tens of millions of Freedom Lovers and Fighters here in the USA and around the world, we disagree, we are not going to cooperate, and we will continue to fight back with TRUTH..."They will not force us. Critiques of this film have opined about screen-time for this character or that, lamenting more lore about individuals. This story of Marcel Marceau is about the event in which he and others did extraordinary things to save lives against terribly villainous odds. Resistance presents the drama, the horror, and the triumph of that truth. It is a worthy chronicle.
