Because of the angle some drips on to the reflection surface which means that this surface has to be cleaned every time. I find putting a block under the legs to change the angle, less cleanup time is required ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Should've bought one years ago *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2016* I watched the infomercials for these things growing up as a child and I always said I wanted one. I don't know what took me so long to get one. I have only used it twice so far, but I feel like I will be doing the majority of my meats in it. My first meal was a whole chicken. The skin was crispy and flavorful. The inside was cooked to perfection following the recipe guide book that comes with it. Cleanup was a breeze. My second meal was a Thanksgiving turkey. 3 hours later came out the best turkey I've ever tasted. It was also moist and juicy on the inside and crisp on the outside. It comes with a basket to do smaller meats and kabobs, which is what I am aiming to try again. As long as I have this thing, I doubt I will ever cook a large piece of meat in the oven again. If you plan on buying one, save yourself some time and purchase some additional elastic food ties. I just bought one for my mother as I am sure she's going to love it just as much as I do. ### ⭐ Not like it used to be :( *by E***. on Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2018* I've had the "original Ronco" for over 20 years; loved it! However, it was literally falling apart, the base was broken, the cord overheated etc. I thought I would stick with the brand since I got such great use from the original but I was way wrong. First, although my old Ronco was a bit flimsy, the cooking parts were solid, heavy metal. The new one was even more flimsy with the cooking parts feeling lighter and cheap. I tried cooking a medium sized chicken, about 6.5 lbs and 5 minutes into the cooking I can see burn marks on the skin! 10 minutes in and my whole house was smoked out!
