Kat's (16700) 1.75" Lower Radiator Heater Hose

There's two secrets to the longevity of this product. One is to make sure that the heating element, connected to the cord, faces down when installed, in order that it always be immersed in coolant. Also, I plug it into an outlet that has a timer. I set the timer to go on at 4:00 in the morning, rather than having it run continuously all night, which tends to burn them out. This also saves energy and lowers utility bills. I use it for a GM P30 step van with a 6.5 diesel engine and it makes all the difference in the world in terms of ease of starting, faster warm up, and faster heat to the cab.

After waiting and not being allowed to post my first review I have this review. It was 40° the day I install the device. Left it plugged in for about 14 hours. Checked to see what the coolant temperature was with a infrared gun temp was 43°. Not much of a change. I will check it again when the temperature drops below freezing and see if anything changes. Not impressedUpdate: temperatures have gone below freezing and no change in the coolant temperature. Unit barley has any warmth. Coolant is 28 degrees on top of the engine near the heater it's 29 degrees. What a waste of time and money. Now I have to buy a new lower radiator hose and install it and on the f150 it's not easy to access. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Very easy to install and would probably rate it a 5 star but I have not used it in the cold weather yet. I have had them before several years ago and was very pleased with the results. Excellent!!

Put this on my 1990 k2500 that starts slow when cold out. Keeps oil pressure from running way up when 1st starting. Nothing beats turning on defrost and heat and its about 120 degrees. No longer have to scrap my window
