I love the taste of the product but there is a ...
I love the taste of the product but there is a warning label on the product indicating that the state of California deems Cafix as a potential health hazard. By the time I noticed the warning, I had already opened the bottle. I'm not going to throw it away but I wont buy it again. Be sure and read the label warning before deciding to purchase this.

It's still not coffee!
This Cafix actually tastes pretty acceptable. It's brown powdery stuff that dissolves in hot water and looks like coffee even though it's made out of grain, I think. It tastes better than Postum, and I think it's better than the other fake coffee products I've tried. So I use it for a hot drink in the morning, and to pretend I'm having coffee which seems to be incompatitble with my body now. I'd recommend it to anyone with the need to ditch actual coffee and/or decaf.

Okay until something better comes along
This is the closest thing I've found to coffee, but I drink it with plenty of sweetener and cream, so it's more the body than the flavor that appeals to me. The recommended serving is 1 teaspoon per cup, which would be okay if you just wanted weak brown water. I've found that in order for it to have any real flavor at all, it takes two rounded tablespoons per one cup of water. That's seven times as much as advertised. So instead of the estimated 100 servings per jar, it turns out to be more like 14 servings. Definitely no bargain at 62 cents a serving. If there really were 100 servings in the jar, it would cost 9 cents a serving. That's based on buying a three-pack with Prime shipping. So, not cheap, but caffeine bothers me more and more all the time, so I'll continue to drink it until something better comes along. Which I hope is soon.

Cafix has nice big crystals that dissolve quickly and completely
Well, it ain't coffee. ;/ But then again, that's the point. I have tried Pero, another type of coffee substitute and find Cafix to be closer to the real thing, although neither are all that close. Cafix has nice big crystals that dissolve quickly and completely, unlike the micro-fine Pero version. I also find the recommended one teaspoon per cup to be inadequate. I put in 2 1/2 per 8 oz. cup and it's at least decent if you drink it hot and fast. I do not use cream or sugar so I can't say how it tastes prettied up like that. If you need something to replace the acid and caffeine found in your favorite coffee, this is worth a try.

Best substitute for coffee
I am allergic to coffee - the bean - much to my dismay, and there really is no substitute, but the closest I can get is Cafix. There is another, similar substitute, but it is made in another country, and since I detect no difference, I go with this one made in the U.S. It's freeze-dried crystals, just like the freeze-dried crystals Folgers that came out when I was in college eons ago (the late 70s/earaly 80s), and I thought was amazing. It goes well with flavored coffee creamers, and makes a nice iced coffee substitute as well.

Excellent. Very good taste
Excellent. Very good taste!!! I shared it with some Mormon friends (they don't drink coffee) and they say it tastes better than Postum which is double the price of Cafix. Very happy with this product.

Delicious coffee substitute
I have tried other coffee substitutes, but to me, this is the most flavorful. It also comes in a nice glass jar to keep the product fresh. I enjoy it with half and half, a sprinkle of cinnamon, splenda, and a couple of drops of vanilla extract for a delicious treat. I will keep ordering this product!
