I love this knife
I love this knife... It takes some breaking in to accomplish one handed opening, but it gets there. It's a production knife and utility based, so it's not gonna be hair splitting sharp, but I believe in carrying a knife, so the size and wait suit me fine... What clinched me on the purchase, was it was made in the USA, like my LMF II and my MP-600ST, Gerber still makes products in the States, you just have to find the ones that are...

Red locktite on pivot threads
This knife would have gotten 5 starts but someone at the factory put red locktite on the pivot threads so I can't adjust the tightness and it actually came with some side to side play. I hate having to mess with a new knife especially for this price.

Husky knife
Great knife and built to stand up to anything. It's a little heavy but it's built like a tank.

The blade is extremely displeasing however the handle and lock is near perfect.
The blade does not hold a razor edge very well. I could shave with it until I used it to cut approximately 8' of 3/8" corrugated cardboard and 20' of tyvek. After that the edge is too dull to easily draw blood by heavy finger press and slide. If I tried with factory edge, I'd have lost a finger. I have sharpened many blades, but it is near impossible to sharpen it back to a razors edge. It is difficult to sharpen it by stone to draw blood by finger press. If a blade cannot be sharpened by stone to a razors edge, it is not a blade worth buying in my opinion. I need this sharpened but do not want to wait to have it replaced or restored to factory edge by mail. However, the only reason this is 4 stars and not 2 is that the handle is superb. The handle feels very comfortable and made just for my hand. I like the form of the blade, but if Gerber would make the same blade cut with them same handle but a better steel, I would be the happiest man alive. Gerber knows how to make a knife feel good and look good, but I cannot recommend this knife because of the steel of the blade. It dings easily, and it doesn't hold a sharp edge very well. For the feel and build quality of the handle alone I give this knife 4 stars. If I were to rate the blade alone it would be given a 1 or 2.My auto 06 holds up but this one doesn't. they are of the same steel. Is Gerber lying about what the blade steel in this knife, or did I get another item that should not have past quality control? I have much confusion for this. I am still pleased with my purchase. This is what I would consider an ideal handle, but I will be having a blade made to match it. This blade is not worth $100ATTENTION SOLDIERS: store knife at least 8 inches from your compass. You should have already endured a lengthy power-point presentation, but if not, or if you have forgotten, most low bid tools, such as this knife and the multi-tool, are cancerous to your compass.
