It went into detail using the ancient languages. We think of the cruxifixion as Jesus suffering for us. This book makes it more realistic. Jesus not only suffered, but was actually tortured for us. Jesus was literally on his deathbed even before he carried the cross because of the cruelty he endured at the hands of the Jewish religious and political entities under the actions of the Roman empire. It was an eye opener for me.

What an appropriate time of year to read about the Resurrection! Rick Renner does an amazing job of breaking down the Resurrection and the events leading up to the Resurrection into excellently written small chapters. Each chapter includes scripture that supports the event. Highly recommend!

This book is a detailed account of what the Messiah went through to purchase our salvation along with the lessons learned and things to think about. One of the things that stood out was that when Judas betrayed Jesus he called him Lord. He didn’t call him Lord because he was submitted to his authority, he was merely acknowledging that he was a gifted Teacher. Therefore, because he was un-submitted it was easy for him to betray the Lord. We have to take time to get to know people. Lastly when Peter cut off the ear of the High Priest servant’s ear he was taking matters into his own hands. When we refuse to wait on God, our impatience will always produce a problem in our lives.
