Do not underestimate the reviews..
I saw the reviews addressing how loud it is and did NOT take it into account as much as I should have. All the settings are pretty loud and only get louder as they go up. I am okay with the white noise but some people definitely wouldn't be. However, the extra noise pollution means I can worry less about suitemates hearing me on calls or playing music, so I see it as a good thing! Works VERY well as a box fan and is very sturdy. Provides a lot of airflow and perfect for a dorm.

Good basic box fan
Not much to say which I guess is a good thing. Its a 20" box fan! I got it to fit in the bedroom window for cool evenings to get some air circulation going. It also works great as a standalone fan to get air moving in to my stuffy office (the farthest room from the furnace of course) to cool it off in the summer. I like that the feet are retractable and can be twisted in and out of place repeatedly. It really moves a lot of air fast too. I only ever have to keep it on the low setting and it will circulate a hot room in a few minutes. I also like the black look with very minimal logo. Dead-simple controls with a single knob that is either off, high, medium, or low. My only complaint is that it felt a little pricey, but so does everything these days.

No Tricks, Just Turbo Breeze
My take on the Genesis 20″ Box Fan G20BOX‑BLK...⭐️ Rating: 5 / 5 - This thing seriously blows—in the absolute best way.Scene 1: The Blast-OffYou plug this in, queue up its Max Cooling Technology, and brace yourself—the air surge hits like a cinematic wind machine. Think of it as a hurricane in a box, but refined and you want to be in the eye of it. Users on Amazon even titled their reviews “This fan blew me away!!” and yep, I’m here cheering that sentiment.Scene 2: Performance on PointIt’s a 20″ high-velocity box fan with three speed settings and a built-in carry handle. It’s basic but potent—just the way me likes it. Folks rave about the airflow—“super strong,” “can’t sleep without it,” etc., and no one complains.Pros:- Wind satisfaction at full throttle: Pack a punch even on medium speed.- Portable & practical: Easy to move around with that built-in handle.- Simple, reliable design: No gimmicks. It does exactly what you need.- Reliable reviews: Real users keep echoing the “blown away” mantra.Minor “Plot Twists”- Truth is—there’s really nothing to pick apart here. No fancy add-ons, no Wi-Fi drama—just pure airflow excellence. My Highlights Table...Feature: My TakeAirflow PPV (Pure Power Value): Think convertible top down at 90 mph—instant cool.Build & portability: Streamlined design, handy handle = move it anywhere.Yelling distance: This fan’s reach extends far—your entire room feels it.Zero bells or whistles: No remotes, no apps, no failures: just win.Final VerdictObsession level: high. This fan doesn’t just move air—it commands it. Flawless in execution. I love it. If your soul craves strong, honest airflow without fuss—this fan is the answer.Would I buy again? Absolutely.

The realist review you’ll get. Almost wish it was a little less powerful.
The realest review. I wish there was one more speed in the three settings for a fourth option that is not so powerful. This is a great fan. It really ‘blows in a great way’. Just a little too much. I wish there was a speed that didn’t blow so hard and wasn’t as loud. This fan can definitely create wind to cool you down. It’s also pretty loud that it’ll be a great white noise machine if that’s what you’re looking for..

REFRESHINGLY DIFFERENT
I have for the last 30 years lived on a beach in Florida. Moist sea air plays havoc on your home if you live on the ocean and there are a lot of maintenance things you need to do. (I know, oh boohoo for me, hey everyone has problems). Every year I would buy at least two new Lasco box fans. I have literally been buying this brand and this exact model of fan for at least a decade. I have been able to see that over the years the fans have gotten smaller and thinner, what was once made out of metal is now made out of plastic, The price of the fans of course continues to rise, to a place where they are now more than double what I originally paid when I bought my first one. As a result of cutting corners in order to produce these fans, the quality has become quite poor. I need to circulate air throughout my home even when my central air conditioning is not running, in order to prevent the growth of mold due to the level of humidity in my home by virtue of living on the ocean. These fans were just simply no longer up to the task and I set out to find a new brand. Enters Genesis fans. I received my first genesis fan yesterday to replace a lasco. So, where do I begin? Let's start with aesthetics. This was frankly never a great point for me because the fans are more function rather than a fashion statement. However, that being said, the Lasco fans are quite ugly in appearance to be quite frank. They look like what you would imagine a fan built to sit in a hospital would look like, stark white plastic. Incidentally a white fan does not stay white forever. I found my Genesis fan to be a solid black with a greater eye towards design in terms of the front and back screening. They've chosen a pattern that is aesthetically pleasing. Even the blades of the two fans are different. The Genesis having more of an aerodynamic sleekness, that is seen in its appearance and in terms of (I believe) it's operation. Simply stated the Genesis is a much better looking fan for the same amount of money. Next in terms of functionality. I must say that the Genesis is highly superior. Whereas in the past I would utilize my Lasco fans at the highest setting, I am receiving the same or a greater airflow with the Genesis on the lowest setting. This, in and of itself, is the essence of a review of a box fan, It does a much better job at moving air. I do not find the fan to be louder than previous box fans I have owned. I however may not be the best unbiased judge in this regard as it is white noise which I find pleasant. Overall I would highly recommend this fan, it is reasonably priced (in this day and age) coming in at about a dollar less than the Lasco. I received next day free shipping. It arrives assembled out of the box and is packaged well. It's hot, it's summer, if you need a box fan, I would buy one of these.
