Cast Acrylic Sheet - .118" Thick, TL Dark Blue, 12" x 12" Nominal

It really amazes me, how many people do not know the difference between transparent and translucent...

This is great acrylic, it is blemish free and scratch free. It comes with true pure color. If you are buying acrylic, understand that there are two main forms of acrylic- cast and extruded. If you just want a piece that is clear with good optics to make a display case then you can go with the cheaper variety- extruded. This is the more expensive variety- cast. Cast is used for machining, drilling, routing, CNC, etc. It is used whenever you have a high speed bit. Extruded plastic will melt from the friction and heat and give ugly balls. Cast won't melt and can be cut and carved with sharp edges. I bought this for CNC VCarving and it works great. In general if you buy acrylic and it is coated with paper it is cast, if it is coated in thin blue plastic it is extruded.

I bought this to use in an aquarium and it is great. No scratches or chips and very cleanly cut. I've used this company before for my other acrylics and I love them. I will definitely be buying from them in the future.And to address the "this isn't translucent, it is opaque" BS, it is translucent but has a high internal reflection coefficient. What that means is that you get a very deep, very bright color on the side the light shines on. You get an effect that looks like the acrylic is glowing. If you buy the thin varieties, then you will get a bit of light shining all the way through.

Everyone that orders through Amazon knows they just throw things in a box. Knowing that, you can't really fault the product.The one I received was well covered and packaged from the manufacturer. It came with the standard paper backing on both sides, and in a plastic bag. I haven't removed the backing yet, other than a corner to check the color and opacity. Both were as expected.Others have reported that the corners and edges were chipped (presumably during shipping), but the one I received has very smooth edges. Checking them with a square shows that they are also very true and flat edges. Seems like a very good product.

Great quality, a little thinner than an 1/8 of an inch, but I expected that. The sheet cut well with my 40w laser from FSL and the quality of the sheet was greet. It has a nice color and when I put a LED light through it, it lit up nicely.

I bought this to create filters for my recessed lights out front of the house. This color is perfect for Christmas and Police support, but you need WHITE bulbs 6000k or higher, and use LED bulbs so it doesn't melt. Soft white changes the color. FYI, put it on a drill press with a hole saw, and remove the pilot bit.

Good quality and it is translucent, not transparent, as described. Very nice shade of dark blue, exactly as pictured.
