I bought this to store kitchen knives and scissors. It stores almost all my knives and looks very elegant. I would highly recommend this.

Versatile, excellent for a variety of knives.

Just right enough space for the amount of knives that I have too. It fits both of my cleavers too. Love it but hope it could be open up to clean. I saw my kitchen has a tiny roach and I am wonder if it can hide in there.

This holder is only suitable for some knives, not your whole set of knives. It would work best for thick long knives. It does not work well for shorter knives or thinner knives because the knives just slip, fall over at an angle and can even fall out. Even if they don't fall out, it looks terrible and the handles are all bunched up together on one side. And you can't take the top or bottom off to clean the thing, or add additional support for the knives. If you have 8 big thick long knives you want to fill the thing up with, and you don't mind not being able to ever clean the inside of the thing it may suit you just fine.

I have four over-sized knives I use regularly when cooking. None of them fit in my other two standard wooden knife-blocks, so I was looking for some way to keep them out on the counter at-hand. This knife-block looks good, matches my stainless-steel appliances, and comfortably holds all of my knives (including an over-long bread-knife). With only four (it will hold several more), I keep them spaced a slot apart, so the blades don’t touch and rub on each other. The only negative feature is that the bottom doesn’t come off, which makes cleaning a bit of a challenge, but I put my knives away clean, so shouldn’t be much of an issue.
