National Carburetors TOY288 - Remanufactured Carburetor (Renewed)

I have had this carburetor for about 2 years, unfortunately it has never worked right!!!! The carburetor when hot floods your engine with gas and the O2 is off the charts!!! I cant even smog my car because the carburetor is so bad. I emailed the company and they were willing to take back the carburetor to only check and correct the problem. (The only positive) I sent the carb back to only hear that after they put it on their machine for test that a needle and float were changed out. The same carb was sent back to me with these changes and I was told it would work. Guess what?????? WRONG!!! I don't think they did anything to this carburetor at all. I really think they were blowing O2 up my butt to shut me up. Now I have a $350 paper weight that I can't even return!!!!Steer clear if you know what is good for you!!

I wanted to keep the old car, but can't find a mechanic to restore a carburetor. Could take a chance once I had a replacement. Mechanic says this is an exact match. Happy to get the car back. I have saved a car replacement and all the costs of hight insurance, licensing that would have been. I see other carburetors at the shop so think this company must be in wide use.

Never could get it to work right so I put the old carburetor back on now I have a a 300 piece of scrap sitting around

There are 150K miles on this 87 Corolla. Starts easily- a little rough idle until she warms up to normal - then runs like a top.
