It is just long enough to allow me to wear the strap slung from one side of the neck diagonally across and under the opposite arm, so that the camera rests near that arm and can then be brought upward to my face to take a photo using the viewfinder; when slung diagonally this way, it's not long enough to bring the camera up at arm's length in front of me to take a photo using the LCD screen.
