Top quality front and rear dashcam that works amazingly well in a van
What a fantastic piece of kit it has been in my van now for coming up two years. You could not buy better in my opinion for the money the images are crystal clear on the small or on a bigger screen if you export them. I use it as a rear view mirror in a van and the angle of the lens perfectly eliminates any blind spots when I’m overtaking or pulling in front of a vehicle, that’s a lifesaver as far as I’m concerned. I did have cause to contact customer service and frankly you could not get better there either, Mark was excellent. Top marks all round from me.

2 Reviews in one - G840H and G840S
There are two reviews here. G840S & G840H===============================================================Review for G840S:Although initially I though the device is quite bulky, after installation and setup I quickly changed my mind. I had doubts that the device will 'fit' my mirror but once again I was wrong. Just after few seconds of moving it around it fit perfectly and I was stunned how securely it holds.Installation: one important thing to remember is that the camera is on one side of the device as such the device itself will slide more to one of the sides of your mirror. Initially I thought that this will bring the 'picture' too close to my face, but actually it feels very natural and comfortable.Video: I have different 4k camera in another vehicle and after few days of driving and comparing the quality it is hard distinguish the difference. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time doing my research before the purchase, so when this one landed on my lap I was surprised with this shot in the dark.Box: the box comes with a number of gadgets that you can but don't have to use.1) Beside the camera itself and the mounts, you can use the GPS device. This is not compulsory, but if you want the GPS/speedometer info, it’s a must. The add on is very small, consequently you can conveniently install it behind the mirror. From driver's perspective you won't see it at all and it won't impact your vision.2) The other device is the reverse camera that captures picture in the industry standard (for reverse cameras) of 1080p. Initially I thought that the 140 angle on reverse camera (170 front) is insufficient but after driving a few days, I can confirm it's perfect. After reviewing videos I have no problems reading number plates, so in the case of unfortunate accident, you can stay assured, the evidence will be there.3) Cloth, nice bonus for cleaning the camera or device itself4) Plastic wedge to feed and hide the cable during installation5) Few cable holders (there are doing just fine during hot day). Also they can be used multiple times so if you decide to swap the cable (during hardwire installation) this can be done easily. Before installing one or few make sure you are confident if your choice as they hold very well.6) Power adapter7) InstructionsBuild quality: The device feels nice in hand. You get the premium feeling and after opening the box, I almost felt like it's Christmas.Pros: Material, Quality, Ease of installationCons: this one is difficult. NONE in short, but if I was to try and find one thing I don't like, well... not for me but the reverse camera cannot be mounted directly on the window. I know there are people who would prefer do it. Consequently its a matter of preference I guess. Would be nice to have an option to chose which reverse camera option you prefer... but I'm nitpicking now.===============================================================Review for G840H:It pleases me to be given opportunity to once again test another product of this company. A frind of mine was recently involved in a car accident and regrets not having one.Cutting to the chase just like G840S, the G840H provides you with the same quality feeling. The reverse camera feels heavy, but it must be due to its very good build quality. I have seen some plastic reverse cameras which I would not risk putting outside of the car, but this one, without a doubt in my mind can be easily installed over your number plate and configured with the DashCam to be your reverse prinking camera. The box comes with everything you need to do the initial installation. If you need the 24/7 parking mode enabled, a hardwire kit is required. This is standard across the industry. The hardwire kit is not expensive and you can get a good one for areound £25.Picture quality:The camera records in 1440P and can be configured in settings to use either H.264 or H.265 compression. On the paper, 265 is better as offers better compression and more footage on the same memory card. In my private opinion I prefer the old H.264. I found it provides marginally better quality picture and the loss in form of bigger video files is the price I'm prepared to pay. Let's be honest, the 256GB cards are not that expensive these days.Reverse camera records at 1080P which is industry standard.Front and back camera angle coverage:Front record at 170 and captures nicely everything you need, even vehicles that are practically parked next to you. Back camera provides 140 degrees angle and this is everything you will ever need. There is currently nothing with wider angle or better quality from what I can see, but you are welcome to do your research.Memory card:The box comes with 32GB memory card. This is perfect to get the DashCam up and running straight away, nevertheless I do recommend upgrading to at least 128GB, or 256GB if you plan on using parking more.Installation:This cannot be any simpler. If you don't count the time to plug it into the power source, I doubt it will take you more than 30 seconds to get in installed. It's hard to describe it, but my advise it to simply put it over the mirror and wiggle around until you feel it sits comfortably, and then secure with straps.Settings:The camera has a huge screen and it is super easy to configure from software perspective. I do prefer this over cameras that need to be connected to over iOS/Android system. It is super responsive and provides immediate feedback.Box:Comes with everything you will need to get the device up and running. I have attached picture with items available in the G840H box.Pros:Just like G840H, the product is of premium quality. Also, if you like to see clearly what is behind you and could use a bit of zoom, think no more. The dash cam screen is big enough to provide you just that, and not big to make you feel like it covers the windscreen. Further to the above the cam comes with GPS so it can also record your speed and location. This is a huge advantage in case you have an unfortunate encounter and someone refuses to accept liability.Cons:This is more of preference. Although the 1440P video is perfectly sufficient to read the numberplates and to be used as evidence, I do prefer the 4k quality cams. If this is also your preference G840S from the same seller ticks all the boxes.

Great, but could've been better
Dashcams. Nowadays, especially in the UK, these devices are becoming more and more important, with more and more people (and less and less police) on the roads. Insurances give discounts for them and they help cover you in the event of an accident, so purchasing the right one is paramount to protecting your car.At the time of writing this review, the camera costed ~£125 which is on the lower end of what it's been priced, having originally been up to ~£200. This may be because Wolfbox are now offering newer models with more up-to-date features. So firstly, setting up. What Wolfbox doesn't tell you is to have the reverse camera functionality, you need a volt meter. I'm not too fussed about this, and to this date I can't review this part of the camera as I haven't used it.Besides that, setting up is relatively easy. I drive a 2004 Toyota Yaris and the trim puller provided is very useful and makes tucking the wires away easy. If you're unsure, you can always google your car and someone will have worked out the best way to route wires, but in a lot of cars the headliner trim will just pull out / trim clip out.The front main camera simply clips over your current wing mirror, which is clever. It looks a bit strange though, but that doesn't bother me. Wolfbox actually do sell bespoke mounts, which I think is a bit cheeky to not include it in the mirror (more on that a bit later on).Keep in mind that if you want to set up the rear camera outside you're going to need to find a way to route the cable from the inside to the outside. This will differ car by car and this took by far the longest time to set up, so just be aware. Alternatively you can just set it up inside which will be easier.Overall, setting up didn't take too long. Best done with two people if you can though; made it much easier. The quality is good. The unit feels and looks solid, and it's a nice looking product. I can see the lens of the cameras are high quality, and this is reflected in the picture quality, which is fantastic and where this unit excels.Despite being just 1080p at the back, the colours are really well balanced on both sides. The angles are really good, especially in two-view mode, and you can see registration plates, in poor lighting, whilst cars are moving. Legitimately impressive. The camera at the front is also good quality but seems to struggle a bit more in low light.I will add that I've installed the rear camera on the outside which has made a huge difference, as my rear window is tinted, so to get the next picture you may need to persevere routing it outside.Against what the manual says, I found the best place to route the camera is high up pointing very slightly downwards. The attached hinge makes adjustments a doddle, too, and the front lens has plenty of play (although they could've motorised the front lens: physically moving it about feels a bit primitive and I'm wary of smudging the actual lens). The GPS functionality seems to work just fine, both directions and speed. The user interface is easy to use, and is touchscreen.Wolfbox supply you with an aftermarket program to view your footage and, although simple, does the job rather well. Downloading it was a faff though as the website in the book wasn't valid any more. (Just Google "Wolfbox software eu").So why haven't I rated it 5*?Well:- The accessories could do with updating. Included is a USB C-type (to input the camera - good) connected to a cigarette adapter. This is a bit frustrating, as I'm already using the adapter socket for bluetooth, so why they didn't just include a long USB C to USB A cable is beyond me, especially if you're paying nearly 200 quid.- Screen glare. Especially in bright conditions, it can be really distracting and makes going from a simple mirror to a screen much more difficult. Hilariously, Wolfbox sell an anti-glare sticker for £6 on their website. Just makes you think why they wouldn't chuck it in the accessories box? Or why it hasn't got an anti-glare film on the product already. Odd, and somewhat greedy in my humble opinion. So far, I've been pleased with the quality of the product. I've heard that Wolfbox are good with their customer service (though I have no firsthand experience - thankfully). The dashcam has only been installed for one day as of this review, so time will tell if it lasts. Hopefully it will.Make sure you buy a long USB-C to A if your cigarette socket is used up, and it's definitely worth buying an anti-glare sticker (one thing I will update once mine arrives).

Excellent Customer Service
This dashcam worked brilliantly for several months - really clear video quality on both front and rear cameras, easy to set up, and reliable recording. I was very happy with it.Then suddenly the rear camera stopped working and kept showing “Rear camera not detected” error. I tried all the troubleshooting steps in the manual but nothing fixed it, which was frustrating. However, the customer service was absolutely fantastic. Mark responded quickly to my messages and was really helpful throughout. After confirming I’d tried everything with the original complete camera set, he immediately arranged to send a replacement main unit at no cost. The whole process was smooth and professional. The replacement arrived quickly and works perfectly - rear camera is back to normal. They even asked me to return the faulty unit to help improve their products, which shows they really care about quality.Would definitely recommend this dashcam. While technical issues can happen with any electronic device, knowing that the company stands behind their product with such excellent customer service gives me confidence in my purchase.

Excellent all in one, dash cam, mirror and reverse camera
This has to be the best dash cam i have owned, it has been fitted for 3 years and I’ve never had a single fault. Unlike the countless amount of dash cams I have been through from bigger brand names. The reverse camera is a game changer too. Easy to fit, plenty of cable and great customer support. I just regret not buying the mirror mount with it so I could get rid of the factory mirror altogether. Well worth the money.

Just what I needeed
I can't fault this. I wanted a rear-view/reversing camera for my van and plumped for this one. The forward looking camera was, for me, a bonus. The kit came with more than enough cable to allow me to install the rear camera above the number plate and feed it through the back door, along the roof and through the roof lining to connect with the display screen which clipped firmly over the existing rear-view mirror. The GPS sensor was easy enough to wire in, again by tucking it under the roof lining and down the A pillar. The forward looking camera is part of the screen that clips onto the rear-view mirror. The power lead for it all was a simple feed above the roof lining and down the other A pillar to a 12v supply.Picture quality is excellent on both cameras.I chose not to wire up the rear camera to the reversing light circuit. I'm more than happy with the view from the camera and don't need the guide lines to assist with reversing, but the option is there if I want it or need it.For me this is a great investment, cheaper than a trip to the body shop or a claim on my insurance if I relied solely on my mirrors and reversing sensors and had a mishap, plus I have the added security of recordings on the micro SD card from both cameras should I be involved in a no fault incident.

Cheap but good
I installed this last year in my VW T6 SWB. it is adequate.- The picture quality is good.- it turns off when my stop/start activates- I have checked and despite this model saying it has 5.8GHz WiFi I am unable to connect so manually removing memory card is the only way to access files- The clock tends to not adjust to daylight savings time.- The speedo and clock are hard to see - too light / fonts not big enough.- The speedo is obvs satellite speeds so be careful through speed cams.- Pressing the padlock whilst driving will save and protect everything thereafter (until you press again) to card and then overwrite earlier saved files so don't accidentally press it if you have files you want to keep. I saw an incident whilst driving and pressed the padlock icon as I assumed it would 'save the current clip' but it just kept going, protecting all further files and then over writing my previous clips.- the rear camera needs a regular wipe or it'll get hazy and it's not very good when it has road spray on it- I would suggest you don't bother wiring the reverse camera in to trigger via reverse light activation, all this does is change the view to full screen (this reduces the width of the screen visible so as to show the full aspect) and also adds the reverse lines that are fixed and tend to just get in the way. I just swipe the screen down when I reverse and it's better- the cable in the box was enough to get all the way to the back of the van to just above the number plateDespite what may appear to be a negative review list, I think this is good value for money as far as a dash cam is concerned and also as far as a rearview alternative. I would recommend

Wow. This is a good back mirror.
Whats a good start for a technology that will help me drive safely. Thanks.

good front camera but lackluster rearview camera
The screen and touch responce is great. It has nice features. Front camera is pretty good but rearview is not as good after dark. Some pictures that are uploaded can be misleading and make you purchase a different model rather than what you want.More importantly, the customer support is phenomenal. They will fix any issue and make sure you are happy with the purchase and the brand. Happy to own a Wolfbox branded product.
