Awesome book with Violet as a sort of main character this time who becomes the hero and develops her magical skills to work with her group of friends. This book has a wish shade which is a dark magic creature who grants wishes for people by making bad things happen for others. Definitely some underlying messages about being careful what we wish for, but focusing on adventure, problem-solving, teamwork, and friendship. Great for kods 7 - 12. My kid loves this whole series and I do, too. The writing is excellent and the illustrations are cute and fun. Love the diverse cast of characters as well.

The book talks about relationships with peers as part of the story. It had some harder words that my daughter had to sound out and some she needed help with but overall, a great book for this age.

Local bookstore did not have all of the books in the series and I fortunately found them at Amazon. Was able to give the entire set to my 11 year old grand-daughter for Christmas. She loved it and I have since discovered another grand-daughter like the series as well, so will be purchasing more.

My 7 year old niece was struggling to find books she liked. We tried this and she read it in a day. Her mother was shedding tears of joy.

These books are awesome! I read them a chapter at night to my 5.5 year old. It is a little advanced for her but the story is so good I am practically reading them for me! The only issues I have had with pages falling out is if the book has gotten wet. I do wish I could get these in hardcover.
