It is a wide step and I wanted something to add both humans and dogs when they come in and go out of the house. I got two treads to cover most of the step. I have be using it for more than a month and it has been doing its job. Even when wet, feet (both human and canine) do not slip. It was simple to apply and cleans up easy. I did have to remove one tread to rearrange its position and it was easy to remove and put back down. It is protected from the elements so I don't know how it would work completely outside but so far it has held up to the cold and the wet.
