My son says...
It was a cool book, because he likes Spiderman alot. Its a good book to read if your kiddo is just getting into reading by himself/herself. My son had no problems reading it, and he was sad when it ended.

Great book about Peter (not so much about Spiderman). Depicts bullying
My 4-year-old son loves spiderman and books, so when I saw this book/comic at such a low price, I immediately jumped on it. Great decision! The book has a total of 30 "useful" pages, each of them with some scene from Peter's life and a couple of very simple sentences. For example, some of the text in the pages is:- Page 4-5: "Peter lives in Queens. Queens is in New York City."- Page 14-15: "Peter has a super secret.", "He has a costume."- Page 24: "Spider-Man can climb up walls."And so on.Now, I do find this book focus mostly on Peter's life, and not so much on Spiderman as a superhero. There are only 6 pages with Spiderman with the mask where he is actually doing superhero stuff, and all the others are just introducing Peter's life, his school and his tools. I actually like the idea of teaching my son about Spiderman's identity, but if you are looking for some action scenes, this is not your book. The only thing I did not like from this book is that it shows how Spiderman is bullied at school (Page 11). I do not like the idea of showing to my son how Peter is bullied and neither the teachers nor he do anything about it. What kind of message sends that everybody lets the bullying happen, and then just go with "Peter does not care" (Page 12) and "At home, no one makes fun of Peter" (Page 13)? We ended up cutting off Page 11/12 (so my book now jumps from 10 to 13), and rewriting 13 to say that Aunt May is happy with how good Peter is in studies.I still rate this 5 stars because it is a great value and my son loves it, but the writers should have put a little more thought into the bully part!

Great book for first time readers.
This book is great for first time readers. My son is in 1st grade and is starting to read on his own but he’s not the most motivated to open up a book and start reading and sometimes when we are reading some books he gets disinterested and doesn’t really try to read. This book has really helped with that, he’s now reading this book almost everyday. Btw he loves Spider-Man so it’s really helped with him wanting to grab the book on his own and read the whole book by himself. I’ve even bought others.

Exactly what we expected
Our lil guy is 3 and Loves to read and be read too. These stories are perfect for him to start to "read" himself. They are short he can see the words and he memories them. First steps toward reading goals. We are educators and would recommend these for anyones home or homeschool or school setting.

I misunderstood the "beginner" books.
My son loves this book. He is 5 and can read pretty well for a beginner. He knows his helper words and 3 letter words really well. I bought this thinking it was a book for beginners because that's what the "#1 Step into reading" I thought meant. Unfortunately it is more advanced than that. If you are looking for a book for SUPER beginners, this book is not for you. I did give it 4 stars still because it is still a great book and my son will eventually be able to read it, I just misunderstood. It's not super informative.

Spidey assists a young reader
Nice little book for our young reader, who is more interested in super heroes than in most other subjects. This is so much better than the boring generic books that thought me how to read 40 years ago.The book is very colourful and covers Spiderman / Peter Parker's adventures in a concise but very clear manner, so that our son could very well relate to it.Having said that, the book is fairly thin so not too sure about the value for money, hence only 4 stars.

Great first reading book!
My son is in reception and has just started to read. This book has been great to get him to do additional reading. It is nice for them to be able to read something other than their school books. He loves the fact he can read about one of the characters he likes and it really helps keep his attention. The book is well made and I will be purchasing others from this line.

Good for late readers
Good illustrations but not for 5 yr old to read even if spiderman mad. Print font different to common use in early readers and raising topic of bullying and secrets not suitable I felt.

Amazing book for spidey fans learning to read
Bought this for my 3yo son who is a die hard spiderman fan. This is a short story, a line or 2 per page, simple short words and lots of repetition. Perfect for little learners learning to recognise words and learn to read.I highly recommend this book.
