I need a food grade bucket to store 20 lbs of rice. This bucket is perfect for the job. It is big enough even to store 25 lbs of rice. This bucket is light and sturdy and fits nicely under my kitchen island counter.

I am using these for collecting sap from maple trees. The buckets are average quality in terms of ruggedness, but the lids don't fit well. I want to be able to have the lid be secure when it is on, yet reasonably easy to take off. These lids do neither.

I paint pickleball courts and carry my paint mixed with sand to the courts. The weight of each bucket when filled is approximately 55lbs. The Living Whole Foods 5 gallon bucket is 90mil while its competitors are 70mil. Big difference in strength. I bought this for storage since I have a community garden space and wanted something I could use for storing buckwheat hulls for mulch and then later repurpose for tools or something else since I don't like buying plastics. I love that it's white, has no company logos and it's well made. It was delivered in a cardboard box with instructions on how to tamp down the lid with a rubber mallet so that the contents are securely stored. Very useful. Highly recommend.

Did you know there are average buckets and above average buckets? This bucket is white. So, right off the bat it is superior to any orange or blue buckets found at certain big box stores. This bucket has a lid. Once you figure out how to put the lid on, it goes on, and guess what...??? The lid stays on. I haven't actually tested this but it seems watertight. I filled with boiling hot liquid to sterilize some grains. Put the lid on. Next day the side were concave and sucked in. Took the lid off, use the materials inside. Bucket was still squeezed all around the center sides. Couple days later and it has popped back out, reformed to its original shape. Pretty happy about that!!
