Best locks I could find for cargo trailers
I was looking for an affordable 4 number combination lock for some cargo trailers. They can be hard to find. These locks cost much less than the ones I had before, which are no longer being made. I dipped them in plasi-dip to protect the finish on the trailers and to color code each trailer. I was very happy with these locks, but after use on dusty roads they started to get stuck and woudn't open. This had happened with the other locks I had before - but with these Sesamee locks I found that a sharp rap on the flat side will open them (as long as the combo is set correctly), so I think they will still work for me. Sometimes I used just my hand, sometimes it takes a hammer or a rock. I know it doesn't sound great, but I think fine road dust from gravel roads will jam most locks. At least these will still open when you tap on them. I wish someone would make a cover to keep the dust out.

Description questionable
Rated 'average' because I don't know what I got. I bought this to be used out of doors to secure a gate. The "Technical Details" include: "All brass internal mechanisms for strength and durability"Which would be good to stop it from rusting up.But the product packaging says(see image above): Body Material X ZINC diecastI have it out on the fence and it will probably take 2 years of weather to see if it locks up (no pun intended) due to oxidation. I would think that brass internals would be something touted in the products packaging.

Good Lock if you want a Black Zinc Body.
i specifically wanted this powdercoated zinc lock because brass used in most locks contains lead that rubs on your fingers. this lock i believe uses brass on the inside, but that's fine with me. the exterior of this lock doesn't seem to have any lead in it. this lock is a bit heavy for the level of security it provides but that's fine with me too. there is a better lock from Sesamee which is a Chrome Plated Marine version of this lock ... but i already have that one and i wanted to have two locks in different color so i know which locker has what in it. So i have a Chrome lock and a Black lock and i rate both 5 stars.if you only need one lock and don't mind the slightly higher price the Chrome is the one to get because it is stronger ( Zinc is not the strongest metal ). but i still rate this lock 5 stars because it is EXACTLY what i wanted, namely a lock without lead on the surface that was different from my Chrome lock. the operation of both locks is identical.finally if you don't mind a brass body lock get the marine lock from ABUS - i have returned mine because i realized it contains lead, but the ABUS is very sexy, it is designed in Germany, it is Marine grade and the mechanism clicks perfectly.that said neither of these 3 locks provide a high level of security. i'm using these for my gym and pool lockers. if you need a lock to secure something like a motorcycle etc you will want something more secure than this.

50% failure
I purchased two of these for a motorcycle cargo trailer. They are subject to moderate to high vibration. Before I used them on the road, I changed the combination and verified that it changed and I could open the locks. I then, by hand, "rattled" the lock. One of them opens everytime with 5 to 10 good yanks. I have never seen this on a Master lock.

Good lock, but hard to negotiate numbers to open and close combianiton
Good strong lock that can resist being clipped off of a locker, but the numbers on the bottom are very small & hard to read.

Rock solid
I've been using this for the gym for 8 months so far and it's never let me down. Also, the black finish is a lot more desirable vice the brass one on their other model. If using this for the gym, just make sure that the hole is large enough for the bar. I'd highly recommend this lock.

Decided not to open
Had one of these for "years" and it was a great lock, but like all things it had its day. I searched for one just like it and here it is. I highly recommend this lock. CANCEL MY RECOMMENDATION, I WOULD NOT NOW RECOMMEND THIS LOCK!!!!!Had this lock now for a year and one day it decided that it no longer cared to open and I had to get it CUT OFF! Multiple attempts with the combination failed to open it. It worked fine up until that day. NO WAY would I buy one of these today, the quality just doesn't seem to be there like it used to.

Solid, reliable, tough
Absolutely solid, tough, and easy to use. You'd need a serious bolt cutter to get through this one.
