SEVERE WARNING ON RETURNS
(Background information)This elliptical cross fit machine came to us on time and complete. There are warnings about its difficulty to put together but even for a mechanically challenged person like myself I was able to sort through the problems and had it together in about two hours.BUT that's when the problems began. My wife had just started to use the machine (less than 5 min.) when the pedals could not be pushed. I tried to get on with my greater weight and strength but I could not make them turn either. I checked the wheel and that could be turned by hand. I contacted the company via the Amazon portal and that too worked fine. The company contacted me and said I needed a new "drive shaft." (It took two tries because I did not understand that I had to respond and say I wanted the new drive shaft.)All of this was frustrating, but understandable. I can't say whether the problem was shoddy workmanship or just bad luck on my part getting a rare lemon.HERE'S THE REAL PROBLEM!!! At this point I was told that I needed to return the machine for a refund and I was given a UPS label to print out along with instructions and information. On printing this out I discovered that to return for a full refund I had to return it IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING. I do not believe that this was made clear to me when I was opening the packaging and it would have approached impossible to get those tightly packed styrofoam pieces out of the box without ruining the box and possibly the styrofoam in the process. I did not have the packaging, and I had ruined it anyway by the time I knew this. In the fine print I read RETURNING IN OTHER THAN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING WILL RESULT IN A 50% RESTOCKING FEE. PLUS IF RETURNED IN A LARGER CONTAINER AN EXCESS POSTAGE FEE WILL BE ADDED.At this point I had to decide whether I wanted to struggle to return the machine and receive $40 or so for 2-3 (perhaps more) hours of work. I did not return it.This might be a good value. But be very careful when you unpack it because the penalty for not having the original packaging is severe.

It works, but….
So it works great and does the job, but I can barely reach the handles when sitting down. It’s definitely not made for short people. The seat has adjustable heights and I have no issue reaching the peddles which is great. I just can’t use the handles. It is also not like a typical stationary bike. Even the lowest setting is really tight and so you can’t just go and go and go. I love stationary bikes because you can do that and it’s easy and it feels great. This is… hard. It’s definitely building muscle and that’s great, but I’m not trying to build muscle. I want to be able to sit there and use the bike for an hour but I can barely use it for 2 minutes before my legs are hurting. Standing and using it like an elliptical is easier. I can do that for longer than using it like a bicycle, but I’m also able to use the handles while standing. It definitely has room for improvement, but it works.

Just what I needed
The Elliptical Machine 2 in1 Exercise Bike was delivered on time. It took my son about 20 minutes to assemble. There were no issues what so ever and all pieces were included. We were so pleased as this is not always the case with most purchases.I promised myself I would get serious about my health and workout regularly. I had been doing an exercise program designed for seniors every other day for two weeks; and was becoming bored. ( I am a 69 year old woman.) I knew I needed help to remain consistent and saw an ad for a well known exercise machine on TV. But as I researched I knew the Elliptical Machine 2 in1 Exercise Bike would be perfect for me. I can change it up by sitting or standing on the Elliptical; or choosing the bike to really work on strengthening my knees. We've had it only a few days and just love it. It's so easy to jump on and get a good workout. And the built-in timer is key. I am so proud to see my progress in increasing my time. This machine has even encouraged other family member to start exercising.I think this is going to not only change my life but could very well save it!I shop a lot on Amazon and this machine is by far my smartest purchase.

Poor Set-up Instructions for a Pretty Good Machine
This package arrived with a large hole ripped into the side of the box. When I checked it out, nothing was broken or damaged so I let that go. Setting it up was made more difficult by the inadequate directions. You have to ignore the very complicated picture of all the parts that is the first thing you see when you open the instructions. This is just a complete parts list and should be at the very end, not the beginning, The actual parts are poorly marked and I took a bit of time identifying the right part at nearly every step. Go carefully because re-doing is the pits. Maybe a more mechanically skilled person would have less trouble.Using the trainer is a good workout, but you have to wear good shoes and socks because the pedals are slanted forward and your toes bang against the end of the pedals. I am thinking of adding maybe a few strips of shoe goo or something else to improve the traction on the pedals. Also, the seat is unpadded hard plastic. If you plan to use the seat, you should invest in the seat cover recommended at the time of purchase. When you use the seat, the handles are a stretch. At 5'6", I can just make it work. For all of that, I like using the machine. I generally walk until I feel a good burn and then rest on the seat for two minutes. Generally, I can keep my heart rate in the target zone for 20 to 40 minutes without too much trouble or over exertion. I think this is a great machine when space is limited and your budget is relatively small.
