“A Must-Have Tool for Electronics Parts Troubleshooting”
I recently added the Klein Tools IR1 Infrared Thermometer to my toolkit for managing electronics parts, and it’s been an absolute gem. This non-contact temperature gun is perfect for anyone working with circuits, components, or small-scale builds who needs quick, accurate heat readings.Quality and Build: This thermometer feels like a pro-grade tool right out of the box. The rugged plastic housing is tough and ergonomic, with a solid grip that’s comfy for extended use. The display is bright and easy to read, and the buttons are responsive without feeling cheap. It’s compact enough to stash with my electronics parts, and the 10:1 distance-to-spot ratio gives me flexibility without sacrificing precision.Performance: I use this to check temps on electronics parts—think resistors, capacitors, and ICs during testing—and it’s spot-on. Pointing it at a circuit board, I can instantly spot overheating components without probing or risking damage. The -4°F to 752°F range covers everything I need for small projects, and the readings are fast and consistent. It’s saved me from frying parts by catching heat issues early, making it a lifesaver for diagnostics.Value for Money: For the price, this is a steal. It’s way more affordable than some high-end infrared thermometers, yet it delivers reliable performance for electronics work. If you’re a hobbyist or pro dealing with parts that heat up, this tool offers serious bang for your buck—far better than guessing or using clunky alternatives.Minor Notes: The laser pointer can be a bit finicky to aim on tiny components—practice helps. It’s battery-powered (9V included), so keep a spare handy for long sessions. It’s not a full multimeter replacement, but for non-contact temp checks on electronics, it’s exactly what I need.Overall: The Klein Tools IR1 Infrared Thermometer is a fantastic addition to my electronics parts toolkit. It’s accurate, durable, and makes thermal troubleshooting a breeze. I’d recommend it to anyone working with circuits or components—5 stars for practicality and value!

Everybody wants to try it
Very useful tool I use for checking the temperature on my woodburning stove. It’s very accurate and not very expensive.

It's nice to buy a "niche" tool and later discover you use it quite a bit.
I purchased this as I was enclosing my attic for my man cave and wanted to check the walls/insulation for hot spots, or cold spots if you will. It worked very well for that, and I gladly absorbed the cost as DIY was clearly far cheaper than hiring out. It worked well and helped me ensure top efficiency in walls by adding and moving insulation, or even sealing as needed. I was fine with having an extra tool that would almost never be used. Or so I thought...Fast forward almost 2 years and I recently purchased a Blackstone griddle, and discovered this thermometer was excellent to both learn the variance in surface temps per zones on the griddle, but also ensure cooking temp is where it needs to be for whatever I may be cooking. It has been irreplaceable here and I use it almost every time I cook, which is a lot. So, almost 2 years and going strong, but also extremely helpful beyond the most recent use as a laser light cat toy. But seriously, I have found uses through the last years in troubleshooting AC and other items. Glad I purchased...

Klein Tools, the name says it all. Accurate, easy to use
This infrared temperature tool holds well in your hand, just point and shoot to see the temperatures of metal or any item you would like to know the temperature. It works with Celsius or Fahrenheit. The display quality is adequate even in low light conditions. I have a lot of Klein tools and this one is no exception to the quality that I have come to expect from Klein tools.

Great for a variety of uses indoor and outdoor
I've had this Klein digital thermometer for 2 1/2 years and have been very satisfied with it. Now I wouldn't use it expecting it to be exact to the degree. While I believe it is pretty accurate, it's not intended for that level if precision. It is very good for telling temperature differences from one point to another. And I use it regularly for my fire pit and cooking over the fire or charcoal grill. For that it is excellent!
