The black band is used to hold the money securely in place. I also have the Dango Tactical wallet. I do not like it. It's a struggle to get the credit cards indue to the tool. But the Dapper 2 EDC wallet is very nice. **Q: What is the maximum number of cards this wallet can hold?** A: It can hold up to 12 cards.
