I've become an egg snob
These have turned my husband and I into egg snobs. After eating a soft boiled egg in these cups with the porcelain spoons, I can't conceive of eating eggs any other way. I was looking for plain egg cups but the price was right with these, so I'm fine with the chicken design. I wash them in the dishwasher bottom side down so water won't stand inside them, but that means water stands in the cups so I still have to empty and dry them before putting them away. The spoons seem delicate so I wash them carefully by hand and store them wrapped in cloth in the drawer, but they would probably be fine in the dishwasher as long as other things didn't bang into them. I find there really is a difference in taste between these and metal spoons, so for us they are worth the extra trouble.

Adorable
I thought these would be sort of drab, but they are the cutest things! I bought them instead of some fancier ones because I wanted them to be sturdy. They are very nicely made - heavy enough so you don't have to worry about them breaking easily. They come with 4 skinny but sturdy porcelain spoons which work much better than using a teaspoon. And clean up is a breeze. I've had many guests comment on how adorable this set is. These are well worth the money!

Holds X-large eggs
I am very pleased with this set. They arrived in perfect condition. The extra large U.S. eggs I buy fit all the way into the cavity, and smaller eggs would fit fine. The eggs stay noticeably warmer than serving loose on a plate, which I have had to do prior to finding a cup for our large eggs. The spoons are a delight to scoop egg out of the shell, a luxury I never expected to enjoy so much, but they truly fit into the shell better than a teaspoon. Due to normal manufacturing, the cups have an opening underneath that would collect water from the dishwasher when upside down, which is the main reason I choose to wash these by hand. Of course I wash the spoons by hand, as I would any small porcelain item. I think they are cute and country style. My husband loves using them even more than I do!

Nice enough...
The egg cups are extremely cute and make for a lovely breakfast setting. However the bottoms are open so washing and drying them is a cumbersome process. The spoons are adorable to look at but they are so blunt and thick that it is very hard to actually eat the egg with them, so I'm using them as jam and honey serving spoons I'm not unhappy that I bought the set but it's nothing to rave about.

Great 8 piece set! Looks great, chicken shape is funny. The spoon is a little bit but acceptable.
Super cute chicken shaped cups and tiny spoons.I wish the spoons can be even smaller than this already very small, fragile, little spoon. It is still a bit wide that you have to fight to get the spoon in (sometimes). I use a standardized egg cutter so the rim size is the same each time. Any larger cut there'd be too much loss of the egg white. So, no, the spoon needs to be smaller. Trust me.the cups are great. The chicken impression is just awesome. Although a friend said it was morbid--eating eggs on top of a chicken..what kind of animal are we... OH well forgot to mention the friend was a vegetarian and I think now vegan. ANYWAY, back to the cups, yes, they hold the eggs up perfectly for your eating enjoyment. All items are dishwasher safe. But I hand wash them. The spoon is extremely fragile so be very, very careful with it. It will not survive a fall from the table. It just won't. Again, the spoon is a little bit but ultimately...acceptable for use.

Very charming
Having a soft boiled egg in an egg cup is one of life's small pleasures. These are charming and well-made. They aren't as deep as some cups, but still hold an extra large egg so that's not a problem IMO. They are open at bottom so would fill with water in a dishwasher, but how hard is it to hand wash an egg cup? I was happy with the spoons too...and will save a couple for caviar at New Year's .

Very nice set - not as fragile as one might expect
As a child, I regularly had soft boiled eggs in egg holders similar, though not identical to these. I probably went over 40 years without having a soft boiled egg. Recently I warched the movie "Iron Lady" where Meryll Streep portrays Margaret Thatcher. In the opening scene of that film Thatcher serves soft boiled eggs in holders similar to these and it planted the seed in me to start eating soft boiled eggs again.Yes, these are porcelain, but knowing that, they're not unusually fragile - they're as fragile, indeed I believe LESS so, than a reasonable person would expect from porcelain. I think less so because they're actually pretty heavy. I don't envision the spoons breaking unless they're dropped. If used solely to crack eggs they're just fine. It's a nice set and One I think represents good value when compared to others available at this Website at the time of this writing. My set came with five spoons. I don't know if that was an error on the part of the ackaging company or if they've decided to add an extra just in case.

Great product for a great price...
The set works perfect for my needs. The cups hold the large brown eggs that I use. The spoons worked just fine for eating the egg out of the shell. I was concerned when I purchased the set because of the reviews saying peices were chipped or broken. Mine showed up in good condition with no chips or cracks. In my opinion the set is an exceptional value where price point meets functionality. The set looks good stored on display as well.
