Great aid to learning German.
Whether you are a complete novice or have some knowledge, this is extremely helpful book for learning the German language. The book is divided into 10 stories of daily life (holiday planning, buying train tickets etc.) with helpful glossaries inserted in the stories to aid learning new words (nouns, adjectives), with questions at the end of each story to test yourself. There are also helpful audio files for each story to help pronunciation. Overall great book to develop your language skills.

Great audio book to practice your German
It features short stories and each page highlights key words to help build your vocabulary. It's definitely for someone who has already/is learning the basics of German, because it doesn't cover rules of grammar. There is also a summary of each story in both German and English which is helpful in ensuring your reading comprehension. The quiz at the end of each story is a nice feature to measure your comprehension and progress. The stories are short and easy to review in a quick session and cover a variety of practical topics. Whether you plan on visiting Germany and need lessons on things like ordering at a restaurant and navigating the train stations, or you moved abroad and need lessons on common phrases used for going to the grocery store, for household chores, or in everyday conversation, this book has you covered. The audio portion is good, it's understandable and was easy to download on my Android phone. Works on Apple devices as well and includes instructions for download.

Hit the Jackpot!!!
I tried taking German as a Freshman, but only picked up the basics. Not able to accept my defeat, a friend of mine recommended I try a read along. I stumbled upon this book, and boy did I hit the jackpot!! It’s not just an awesome read along, but provides additional resources that help connect the dots to enhance your conversational skills. It is definite must have if you are thinking about learning German!!

Generally good, but with problems...
Presents hundreds of useful vocabulary words in grammatically-simple sentences. Unfortunately the Kindle version I received also has scores of typos, not a good thing for a beginner to have to contend with. (I suspect the typos are not present in the paper version of the book.) Adults may find the some of the stories infantile.

Lots of helpful features
It's great having both a German and an English glossary WITHIN these stories so there's no flipping around to a glossary in the back of the book. I like that the stories aren't too long but allow for enough German vocabulary and that they end with short overview quizzes so you can test yourself after finishing each story.

Decent German Language That's Worth the Price
I decided to buy the book because I was interested in brushing up on some of the German I learned in college. I enjoyed trying to read the short stories along with the audio portion of the book. I also enjoyed the summary and questions at the end of each chapter. The book was easy to use and easy to follow along for the most part. I think people with a little bit of knowledge of the German language would have an easier time using this book just because they might have a better understanding of how to pronounce some of the letters and sentence structure. This might make a good intermediate textbook.

Perfect material for enhancing vocabulary and pronunciation in German
These short stories contain a lot of valuable material for people in the midst of learning the German language as well as gives a little glimpse into the day to day living and culture of the Germans. Having a B2 certificate in German, which is intermediate level, I can add that I found these stories to be very useful because of the rich vocabulary, practicing sentence formation as well as pronunciation. The MP3's for each story add so much more value as you can practice your listening skills as well. The embedded glossary on each page is the icing on the cake.

Great for improving reading comprehension!
This book is a great choice for beginning/intermediate German learners. The stories are simple without being childish. I did not understand every word, but simple glossaries, summaries of each story, and review questions helped strengthen my comprehension and recall. There is also an option to download audio for each story, which is helpful for learning pronunciation.

Great resource for German learners
I was a little sceptical when I saw that the book was mostly German as I was a novice, but I found with each story, with the help of the illustrations and the glossaries on each page, I was able to understand what was going on and my vocabulary began to expand. It seems a little daunting at first, but I'd encourage beginners to stick with it, and you'll find that being immersed in the language really helps to further your learning. The MP3s also did wonders for my pronunciation; this is a book I'll keep going back to.

Not for an absolute beginner
Unfortunately this was not what I was looking for - I am a beginner, but wanted simple well known fairy stories in German for young children, that would be accessible to me at the level I am at. This is probably very good for students who have advanced more in their study of the german language.

Way to read, review and revise.
I was a bit wary that it might be too much for my level but I was pleasantly surprised. The layout, structure and progression of the stories make it easy to read, review and revise. Perfect for my level.

Very useful.
The interesting and entertaining stories in this work are very well thought out and set out, it seems to me. Just the right amount of repetition and a clear translation printed with each one story. My only trouble is getting the sound to work when I want it to as it doesn't seem straightforward, but perhaps with some tuition I can have that too.

Not for beginners
You definitely need to have a good grasp of German before attempting to use this. I still have not linked the first 'story' on the audio to the written version. If you're already fairly good at German and want to improve your accent it's probably be fine, but I don't think I'll find it useful for the next year or so!
