New Series Not To Miss! Great Read!!
Trusting Skylar is the first book in Susan Stoker’s new Silverstone series and it is a wonderful story. I was completely captivated by the two main characters Carson “Bull” Rhodes and Skylar Reid and from the glimpses of the rest of Bull’s team – Eagle, Gramps, and Smoke – I am really looking forward to reading their stories as well. If you enjoyed Stoker’s Mountain Mercenaries series, you will definitely enjoy this new series. It’s like the Mountain Mercenary guys and then some. They are also briefly mentioned in the final book in the series, Defending Raven.Silverstone’s mission is to deal with the worst of the worst, to rid the world of the depraved and evilest of humanity and they work to do this while running a legitimate towing business in the forefront as a cover, and taking on missions in secret. From their years’ in the army, these four men work like a finely oiled machine and are closer than blood. So when one falls fast and hard, it affects them all both personally and professionally. Even more so when the sweet, innocent teacher finds herself in a heap of trouble no one saw coming and it’s up to Bull and his team to find her and bring her home safe. These two were an odd pairing, but they worked. I enjoyed the honesty Carson and Skylar had with each other while building their relationship along with the easy conversations and chemistry they shared. You could tell the attraction was instant and electric and they both, for their own reasons, worked to build something solid at a steady pace instead of rushing in full steam. I really liked the rapport Skylar had with her kindergarten class and Bull and his team’s interactions with them as well; there were some cute moments with the kids. There were also some fun moments when she first meets the guys at Silverstone.Since Trusting Skylar is the first book in the series, some of this story was setting up the overall background along with Carson and Skylar getting to know each other and letting us get to know them. There are adorable kids, some fun and laughs, alpha gruffness, swoon-worthy alpha sweetness, great friends and family, a bit of drama, danger, and, of course, a rescue with a happy ending. It’s the perfect mix of suspense and romance. A new series not to miss especially if you are a Susan Stoker fan.

A new journey
Bull is intriguing. I love the name and the story behind it is good. The romance is sweet and the play on innocence is expected but refreshing. I did not see the kidnapper taking the person he took. The dynamic between the team and the connection to Rex was well written and detailed. I remember reading the story of Rex and his wife and how another group handled the villain at the end so it is neat to see that connection. I am interested in the other three stories for the team, but I really hope to get a story for Willis!Along with the writing and storyline I latched onto another character and that is the neighbors. The insight and conversation into who they really were was fascinating.A good read and a great start to a new series!

There's more than corn in Indiana... There's Silverstone Towing
Living in Indiana all my life, I've realized and accepted we're not a glamorous setting for books and movies. So I was really excited when one of my favorite authors decided our capitol city would be the setting for her next series. It's was cool to read "465 near the airport" and have an image in my head of where that probably was because I've driven that same route. Or to know that Carmel really is an affluent community that would have provided the childhood Skylar described.Despite all of the cool references that made this book a little more personal, it wouldn't have made any difference if the story was flat or the writing style was poor. This is a unique story that makes the reader question how far you'd go to accept all aspects of your loved one's life. I love a book that makes me ask, "How would I react to that revelation? What would be the line in the sand?" and this book does that. I love the story but I also love that this situation is a very unique one. Susan makes the scenarios believable, practical, and still entertaining.Carson is true to all of Susan's alphas. Strong and confident in nearly every aspect of his life, but vulnerable when it comes to their women. They never know what they're missing until they have to face the prospect of a life without them. Real life in a slightly more dramatic fashion but real life none-the-less. Susan's heroines are everything you want and expect them to be. Skylar is just like so many of the teachers I work with in our elementary school. They have to be strong to deal with the constant demands the state continues to put on them; selfless to provide all the emotional support that today's students need; and a willingness to do what needs to be done to provide their students with the best educational experience. Skylar is on track to be the next Caroline, Rayne, and Gillian. She doesn't realize it but we all know she's going to be the glue that holds the women together.I'm excited to see where we go with Eagle, Smoke, and Gramps. It is guaranteed to make us smile... And swoon... And shake our heads... And fan ourselves because Susan's guys are H-A-W-T. Loved this book so much!

Trusting Skylar (Silverstone Book 1)
Bull, nickname for Carson, is owner and driver with three other friends Eagle, Smoke and Gramps. Skylar is a kindergarten teacher and was driving home from school when her car broke down. Will she accept a ride home with him or call someone to take her home? You have to read the book to find out.

Liked the novel
I enjoyed reading this novel, but didn't get the title: Who was to trust Skylar? And when in the novel? Also, the epilogue has nothing to do with the novel - i didn't even read it fully when i realised it might be to promote the next book in series. Author could have added the first chapter of the next book separately while keeping the epilogue connected to the novel, telling us how Jay was killed in prison etc....

New series.....whoop whoop!!
It’s always a flag waving event when a new SS series is launched. She rarely (if ever!) misses the mark and you know you are in for an exciting ride that will leave you begging for the next in the series. This book hits the mark, amazing in its world building you are immediately drawn into both a backstory that gives credence to the characters and explains some of their unique individual facets, and a current up to date state of play that gives them an obvious platform to continue doing what they do best. The world of Silverstone is deep with roadside recovery at the front, level 10 baddie destroying at the back and a lot of being honest to goodness nice people in the middle.Bull leads the team and is super confident, happy in his life and satisfied with the work he does (both front of house and in the dark)He meets Skylar after rescuing her after her card breaks down and immediately falls for her and wants to meet her again.Skylar is slow to trust and struggles to understand why he feels this for her but eventually he wins her over with his persistence, caring and demonstrations of his adoration.I thought the romance elements of this book were really well written and whilst SS never makes romance easy, and the characters have to work for their HEA, you know they will eventually get there. The unknown element with SS is always what peril, pain and discord will be introduced in her stories and this book is no different.SS lays such a strong trail for breadcrumbs in this story you will have yourself convinced you know where it’s going before there is a sudden derailing of the train into an absolute terrifying crash you didn’t see coming...so unexpected yet ultimately satisfying in the end.Another amazing read

TRUSTING SUSAN? WITHOUT ANY HESITATION!
I was eager to start this new serie by Susan Stoker. Once again she didn't disappoint! How she manages to make those formidable men look uncertain when it comes to love baffles me each time! I was hooked from the first page. I wanted to know how Sky would react to Bull's confession, when will he confess, how will she come around afterwards, when will the bad guy strike, will Bull be back on time to save Sky or will Shy be able to save herself! Each book is a prowess by Susan because eventhough you know there is a HEA she keeps you wondering how will everything unfold. When you reach the end you're happy and relieved and immediately starts thinking how long before her next release! Great jog again Susan! Keep the goods stories coming....

A new series
A new series that ist very losely tied to the Mountain Mercenaries because Bull's the one Rex called for a job in South America - and that's were the story gets really started, namely when the four of them are headed back to Indy after taking care of Del Rio... Anyway, great story, strong characters and only a little bit darker" than the previous books but nevertheless it's about friendship, sticking together, being there for each other, having each others back and also falling head over heals. Great.
