40 LED Clip on Light, TASMOR Clip on Reading Light with IR Remote Control, 3 Color Temperatures & Brightness Adjustable, Eye-Care Bedside Dimmable LED Clip on Lamp for Reading, Work

At first examination, this is a brrilliant device. I'm writing a book and sometimes, I use a 10" Netbook in the bedroom, but at night, unless i have the main lights on which i find too bright, it is difficult to see the keyboard. (I don't 'Hunt and Peck', but i cannot touch type so I need to see the keyboard). This is ideal with its variety of settings, but there is one drawback. The clip! You need to be Superman to open the damned thing! I'm 76 and still reasonably strong but I struggled to open it at first, even at second! I was taken aback by the amount of force required to actually open it, and to maintain it in an open position while trying to clip it on to something. it does require an inordinate amount of force to operate. I cannot fault the electronics, it is a wonderful tool with controls for the type of light, the brightness and even a timer with settings for 3H, 6H, 9H and 12H. Now I know the amount of strength required to open the clip I am prepared for it but some in my age bracket might really struggle to operate the clip due to arthritis or just failing strength due to age. I have had lights with a clip on before and they did not hold quite firmly enough, and you definitely cannot say that about this unit, but the spring tension needs to be just a little bit more forgiving.Considering all the pluses of this light, it may seem a little harsh to go on about the clip but it really IS difficult for old hands to cope.

I purchased this clip lamp so that my stepson wouldn't have to climb into his high sleeper bed in the dark and would be able to switch it off from in bed.The quality of the lamp feels good and sturdy, the clip is strong and feels secure where I have placed it, and the head of the lamp is movable so it can be placed facing wherever you wish. It is powered by USB so will plug into a USB socket (if you have one) or a USB plug adapter (the likes of which usually come with phone chargers and such). The wire is a decent length and easily covered the distance between the top of the bed and the socket near the floor.The light itself has a variety of brightness and colour (warm or cool white) options so easily adjustable to adjust it to suit your requirements. At its brightest it really is impressive and lights a whole section of the room really well.The remote control that comes with it is great, the buttons are easy to press and the lamp is responsive from all areas of the room. I purchased a Command toothbrush holder so it could be attached to my stepson's bed and it fits really nicely, giving it somewhere to live without slipping down the side of his mattress as the remote is pretty small in size!Overall I would really recommend this lamp, to me it was excellent value and fulfilled everything I expected and wanted it to do.

However, take the distance the remote works with a pinch of salt. It is more like two metres, and less if the in-line wired controller is hidden behind something, even thin plywood. The most dissappointing thing is that three of the six lights I ordered for around my working area flicker on the lower brightness settings. This kind of thing inevitably leads to eye strain. I wonder if they are reduced in price because of this fault? I might order more (the price is really good) and hope I can replace flickering ones with some that are more stable. The differing temperature of the LEDs and flickering may relate to whether the source is a USB port or a USB connector plugged into a mains socket. I will check this out. On the whole, it is very civilised having plenty of light on my different projects and being able to control it so easily. I don't find the fact that all the lights dim or brighten at the same rate with the remote is a probem. The wattage is still much lower than mains lighting. It is also really handy having several remotes lying around.

A sturdy clip on light that has varying intensities and colours of light which are more soothing when reading or working in artificial light. I would highly recommend this portable light and in my opinion value for money. There are a few positive attributes to this device: sturdy clamp, movable neck for accurate positioning, remote control for setting a timer to switch light off, USB lead to power, ability to set ambient colour of light for varied tasks and lastly I really like it. My only slightly negative comment would be it is slightly larger and heavier than I am used to and I am still not used to it as I have previously gone for smaller lights that clip on to my book. I also purchases it in the colour black which in hindsight I would have chosen a lighter colour so it would look less intrusive due to its size but all in all I would class this light as a good all rounder.

This is a really good light. Very sturdy and plenty of variations for lighting effect both colour and brightness. Very handy switch on the cable - haven't needed to use the remote. Really pleased with it. As one previous reviewer wrote the clip is very strong and hard to open fully but that strength gives it very good stability when clipped on to the headboard on the bed. The only downside and the reason I've only given it 4 stars is the length of the cable. It needs to be at least twice as long and I've had to buy an extension cable as I don't have a power socket close to the bed. Other than that it's a very good light and I would recommend it.

Working from home I'd been having trouble with lighting for video calls; having dark skin I needed a light to shine on my face so it was easier to see me on camera. I'd been propping up my mobile or using a lamp but the bright light was washing me out/making me look shiny. Having 3 light colour settings allowed me to choose a perfect hue and the different brightness levels allow me to set the perfect conditions so it's bright enough to see me clearly but not so bright it hurts my eyes. The bendable arm is very firm so it stays put, the cable is plenty long enough, and the in-line settings control/mini remote offer the perfect versatility for controlling it when in use. Oh, the clip is also plenty strong and wide but sufficiently padded it can clip most places without damaging the surface. I'd definitely recommend it.
