Chasing the Deer: The Red Deer Through the Seasons

Bought to give as a Christmas gift but I can see it's a very nice book for anyone who likes deer.

I've had a long-term interest in deer welfare and loved the quality of the images printed in Neil McIntyre's book. Neil has obviously spent a massive amount of time in the Scottish mountains and his photographs capture Scotland's most iconic animal perfectly. Ian, IMHO, raises some valid issues regarding the current persecution of red deer in parts of the highlands and it saddens me that some of the 're-wilding' lobby appear keen to wipe out red deer in many areas. Indeed, in the land of Landseer's classic 'Monarch of the Glen' it is almost impossible to see red deer. This is a beautiful book and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who loves to see Scottish red deer in their natural environment.

Having seen the book at a friends I came home & ordered it straight away.This is an outstanding portrait of Red Deer & the authors comments highlights the plight of the Red Deer & how they are treated in Scotland.If you are only interested in photography, the pictures are fantastic!!

What a beautiful book for anyone with the interest of photograph and wild red deer.I’ve flicked through it as it’s a present but for the price I think it’s good value..
