Makes You Grateful for the Holy Spirit!
I give my highest recommendations to Dennis Bennett's classic book, Nine O'Clock in the Morning. Don't let the 1970 publication date fool you--this is a surefire page turner that will radically enhance your appreciation for the Person of the Holy Spirit. In fact, I walked away from each reading, thinking to myself: "Wow - THIS is the Person Who lives inside of me?" It has made me extremely thankful for the work and power of Holy Spirit all over again, and I believe it will do the same for you.Bennett does not deliver deep theology (although he is obviously learned and well versed in Scripture), nor is it academic study. This is the powerful, personal and profound story of how an Episcopalian priest was gloriously wrecked by a life-changing encounter with the Holy Spirit--and the history shaping aftermath of this experience. Why is this testimony different from any other? What makes Bennett's story so unique? Two reasons. One, Bennett's encounter with the Holy Spirit was utterly contagious. It flowed out of his life, into his family, into many members of his church, and really, seemed to powerfully penetrate every person he came into contact with. Truly, Bennett illustrates how the presence of God is released through our testimonies. When we share about the wonderful works of God in our lives, it stirs hunger in those listening. Those we share with end up starving for the same reality we personally experienced, and the wonderful thing about testimony is that our stories makes those realities available to the hearer. Remember, if God did something for one, He can and wills to do it for another, as He is no respecter of persons. So for one, Bennett's testimony was absolutely contagious. Two, the man became a revolutionary and forerunner for the Charismatic movement of the 60's and 70's which significantly impacted mainline denominational churches. I will leave the "rest of the story" for you to discover on your own, as I hope I have stirred enough curiosity with my review. I will say this: Bennett's encounter with the Holy Spirit changed everything. He could not go back to living the "old normal." His life was ruined for stale and dry Christianity, and a hunger was birthed within Him to pursue, experience, and release the fullness of God in his life and ministry. This radical pursuit proved to be costly for Bennett, but ultimately, started a revolution that is still producing fruit to this day. All because one man said "Yes" to the Spirit of God.Oh, that Dennis Bennett's testimony would stir that same "Yes" in us today as we are given a beautiful glimpse of Heaven's Treasure that resides within us.

One of The Best Books On Spirit Baptism
I’ve read many books on Spirit baptism, some that are just full of personal accounts and stir your hunger for God and some that give you practical steps that lead you into the experience. This book is more like the former—personal accounts that stir your heart. I’ve found myself so hungry for more of God. I’ve been baptized in the Spirit since I was 12 and have prayed in tongues since then, but this book truly made me want even MORE of Jesus. If you’re looking, though, for a book to give you practical helps to experience the baptism for the first time, I’d highly recommend, “Want More?” By Tim Enloe—it’s a short, practical read. But if you want lots of stories of revival, this is the book for you!! Soo good.

Great Book, But Binding Glue Not Holding
The actual subject matter of this book deserves 5 stars. However, I bought a used copy, which looked like new, but the glue holding the binding together failed right away, so the pages come loose easily. It's literally falling apart. I would suggest buying a new copy or trying Thriftbooks.

These events happened in the 60's and 70's, but they are still fresh today.
I loved this book. In fact, I just read it for a second time this week. I laughed, I cried (a lot) and was inspired. The first time I read it, , I was looking for a way to "get the baptism of The Holy Spirit", like a how-to book. Well, I have to tell you, it doesn't work that way, but this book explains how the Baptism is relevant for today and why you REALLY WANT TO HAVE IT if you a new Christian who has just accepted Christ, or someone who has been a Believer for a while. The first time I read it, I had not received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. The second time I read the book, I HAD received the Baptism (with tongues) and read it with a different perspective. As described from others' experiences in the book, my biggest obstacle to receiving, was MYSELF. I finally had someone who already had this gift lay hands on me and pray (like in the scriptures) and then, I had to step out in faith and try speaking (that's our part). God gives us this gift if we ask and it's AWESOME.

Awesome Book about an Awesome God!
An amazing book by a humble priest whom God called to share about the joy, strength, and wonder experienced by those who are willing to receive God's Holy Spirit. This book transformed my life in 1977 when I was struggling with a troubled marriage and new baby. I'd believed in Jesus since childhood, but had no power to over my sins until "Nine O'Clock in the Morning" inspired me to receive the Holy Spirit. When a local Spirit-filled pastor prayed for me to receive the Spirit, God gave me overflowing joy, overcoming power, and, as God taught me how to truly love my husband, an over-the-top marriage! As Jesus' love flowed through our household, we became one of the closest couples I've ever known. Plus, our "baby" is now a strong man of God. I'd recommend this book to anyone seeking to go beyond dry, ritualistic religion. The Holy Spirit, promised by Jesus in Acts 1:7-8 grants us an awesome and fulfilling relationship with the one true God. The words of this humble priest will inspire a hunger for that relationship.

Spiritual Revival!
At a recent spiritual retreat, one of the pastors recommended this book to our group. He told us of the great healing miracles that had happened and how after reading it how his prayers for healing really got to work. I was intrigued so felt that I should read the book. How heart warming it was to read about so many people receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the great things that happened. If it happened to those people around the world in the late 50s and 60s - I believe that revival needs to be happening again as we approach 2020!
