For that "Weird Coffee Person"
If you are a "Weird Coffee Person" like me, then take a good look at this grinder. I went for the K model, instead of the J model, even though it was a bit more expensive, mainly for what I understood to be the improved bur set, and I must say I am very pleased with the results. I had a very nice electric grinder (in the $500 range) that I had to return, and my new grinder (Niche Zero) is several weeks out before I receive it, so I needed something for the daily grind, so to speak. Also, being a camper with the need to grind at the campsite, I wanted an upgrade to my current Hario hand grinder I have had for years. Aside from good coffee, grind quality is one of the most important factors to good-tasting coffee, so I wanted a grinder commensurate with the fine single-origin coffee I am buying and something on par with the grinder I returned. The coffee I have been making is at least as good if not better than anything I have made to date, absolutely delicious. The build quality is excellent, the grind settings are easy to set, and since this can be used for espresso, and I do pour-over, the variation in grind size is overkill for me. I like that the grind receiver screws on (this model) because the coffee I grind is very dense, so I'm not worried about accidentally knocking off the receiver which would leave very nice and expensive coffee all over the place. The other thing I like is that this grinds fast, I can grind 35g of coffee in about a minute, I think that is excellent for a hand grinder. It also comes in a nice case, great for camping, and a decent brush and air blower. If there are any negatives, it's a few steps to take apart for cleaning, but I am sure once I get used to it, it's no big deal. Also, instructions are online, scan a QR code, which could be a plus, since there is very minimal use of paper. Overall, this grinder has exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it.

I use it as much as my high end electric grinder.
I spent a lot of time researching manual grinders and chose this one for three main reasons: 1) Its construction is made of the finest materials and its design ensures long life and performance; 2) the grind size calibration is easy to get to right on the exterior of the grinder; 3) the consistency of grind size from Turkish fine to coarse press.I have been using it for almost a year now with nothing but highly satisfied results. The design is large enough to easily handle my 20+ gram double shot espresso.I started using in the early morning to avoid waking the house with my electric grinder. The burr size is large enough to keep the cycles of the grinding arm down to a minimum, significantly fewer turns than cheaper manual grinders—a quarter of the turns than the standard $10 models.I clean it every time I use it which is easy enough with the brush and small rubber air pump. I have twice taken it apart to really clean the housing and burrs. Again, easy to do and only a bit tricky to recalibrate but several YouTube videos helped. In short, I love it. Heavy feel of good construction but light enough to manage grinding. Reliable. Solid. Consistent results.

Grid daily to survive the daily grind
This grinder has precisely machined hardware with 3 ball bearings for the shaft, relatively wide opening for loading the beans, good capacity (up to about 30-35 grams, or 4 scoops of beans, practically), excellent ergonomics, and - importantly - fast grinding action. On a medium-fine setting (e.g. for an AeroPress that hews closer to an espresso than a drip taste), two scoops of beans are ground in about 60 turns of the handle, which takes less than 60 seconds. The receptacle for grounds attaches to the bottom using a fine-pitched thread and is held securely. The anodized finish is similar to the back of an iPad or a MacBook – it helps keep the parts (e.g. the threads) very easy to clean, and in my book overrides the suboptimal friction for handling in dry / cold conditions. There is, however, a leather-ish grip on the main body of the grinder, which keeps it from slipping while grinding. In all, I've operated this grinder at least twice a day for many weeks now and am very pleased. It grinds very quickly, yet quietly – I can easily prepare two fresh servings before 6 am, while most in the household are still sleeping. It's also a very well-machined pice with a positive mechanical feel, which makes the grinding process into a nice tactile routine. Highly recommended. Would love to know where / how to purchase replacement grinding cones for replacement down the road.

Excellent Hand Coffee Grinder
I've owned another grinder and the K-Pro stood out objectively in three areas: quality of the grinder, speed of grinding, and precision of grind adjustments. My former grinder would take about 5 min for 25-30g of beans. It was a chore. This grinder takes about 45-60 seconds on a comparable grind size (~7-8).On the subjective side, the grounds seem more consistent, but that's just trying to measure visually. The case, brush, and air puffer are nice additions and are useful. I don't use the grips so I don't have feedback on them.I primarily use it for pour-over style coffee, and it's been fantastic. I've occasionally used it for espresso and french press, which have been awesome, too. My parents have the JX-Pro and I've used it a few times and seems to do really well. I prefer the adjustment on the outside, but that's not a knock on the JX. I highly recommend 1zpresso, even if it's not this particular model.

Great grinder
This grinder let's you grind coffee to the size you need for whatever method of coffee brewing you are making. Cleaning is a easy once you do it a few times. Don't put this grinder near water and just use the tools inside the kit which is the double sided brush and blower. Once you learn how to adjust the grinder back to zero on the top it's so easy anyone can do it. Definitely worth the money.

Gutes Mahlwerk, verwirrende Designentscheidungen
