🥹 Professor Approved Quality Without Breaking The Bank 🫶
I couldn't fathom affording the Sennelier oil pastels that were highly acclaimed, so I browsed through this platform to look for Mungyo Gallery brand oil pastels since the professor had recommended this brand to me when I inquired on affordable options that wouldn't come off as chalky when used on paper, and fortunately enough I found them! This ended up being exactly what I needed for the college level Drawing 2 class and I ended up putting a lot of effort into drawing the details out with a light colored pastel pencil and went over it with the Mungyo Gallery oil pastels and the photograph is the finished result. These glide effortlessly on the paper and blend beautifully as well with either the use of one's finger or a blending stump. I ended up dedicated my oil pastel piece to my deceased pet rat Black Jack (although it may not be noticable at a glance the white ice cream is actually a rat sitting down. I did my best to make the rat as discreet as possible and people ended up having fun trying to figure out what the hidden image within the piece was. Even after the semester was over and done with I had quite a bit of the other colors left over (with the exception of the pastel blue and pink). I highly recommend giving these a try, as a fellow starving artist and broke as heck college student I can vouch that these are worth it especially for the amount of variety you get!

My daughter loved the cryons!
My daughter loved it and drew a painting (re-created from another reference art) using these crayons overnight.

Incredible Value - Next step from Student Grade Soft Oil Pastels
I did a good bit of research on YouTube and other sources before purchasing these. Could the promise of soft and creamy oil pastels at a price that doesn’t break the bank be true. Indeed. I don’t have much experience with oil pastels, mostly student grade. I have been so unhappy with the quality of art that I can produce with the student grade sets. I want to learn this medium so much, so I decided to go ahead and invest in this 72 set. The packaging is lovely and well suited for gifting. Carefully wrapped in two layers of bubble wrap. The color layout is beautiful and saturated, these are creamy and easy to blend. I am really looking forward to using these starting today.

Affordable and excellent quality
I have never really enjoyed working with oil pastels in the past because I had a lot of difficulty using them. Turns out I just had not found the right brand yet. These are very affordable and work like a much higher price brand would, smooth and buttery, easy to layer and blend, very vibrant color. These are hands down my favorite pastels I've gotten to work with.

Good value for the money.
Medium soft bright colors. The box is not the greatest. Even with the sleeve, the sticks fall out when proper on it side. The extra soft sticks are easier to blend but they don't have much in the way of buying options. I like the Pearl set but the colors are limited.

Lovely colors easy to blend and work with
For me, the more colors the better, so I went with the 72 color box. Since I love medieval art I challenged myself to paint a minimalistic Madonna with child standing under the shade of a tree on a sunny day, uff. I like the results :). My collection of oil pastels includes many brands and I like to mix and match. The reason in that oil pastels (depending on the brand) are be soft-hard, oily-dry, easy or hard to blend, For my work-style, Mungyo is right in the middle.
