I am very surprised with this mandolin I've had other types of mandolin single blade/v blade before none were as sharp as this i like the vented area which drains excess water I've read the other reviews on it some were saying the julienne blades move about when using it but I think it's designed to do that like when cutting with a knife using see sawing motion the julienne blades actually look like a knife if you look at them side on I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BEING CAREFUL WHEN USING IT just go slowly and you'll get perfectly cut food. I've given it 4 stars because of the hand guard it's awkward to use for small food I'm gonna be cheeky and buy this other brand one which has better hand guard for small food.

It could do with a container to catch what you are slicing , but otherwise it’s ok

Please ignore the negative reviews these are just written by numpties who don't know how to use a mandolin or worse think its some kind of magical device that slices things for you. Some amount of skill and care needs to be used to operate this device effectively and safely. but if you are a normal person you will figure out this device works perfectly and is a really good solid mandolin. Has sliced everything perfectly so far and comes with a great selection of blades. If you have the IQ of a turnip prob best to stick to using a spoon for everything so you don't hurt yourself.

Gave to my Dad for father's day as I knew he wanted something in this type of slicer. Having spent an age wading through different options, this stood out in the reviews and from a leading brand name without going mad on the price tag. My research seems to have paid off as my Dad said he's been getting a lot of use out of it in different ways and loves it.

Using this mandoline was a fairly wasteful experience. The hand guard is designed to only firmly grip curved items that sit all the way into the dome, which is half the size of the cutter. You can forget about slicing cucumbers or carrots, because they will slide right out from under the grip. Only round things like apples and onions work.The dome is also so small and without sufficient grip that you can also only cut something about 2" wide. So no large potatoes or anything wider than the dome on the guard.The grip also doesn't sit close enough to the plane of the cutter so the last bit of whatever you're cutting won't be cut all the way down and has to be discarded. I ended up with a huge pile of wasted onion ends that I ended up having to chop by hand.All in all, this unit made me curse, wasted my time, and made me wish for my previous mandoline. It functionally only works for a couple of types of items, and then still won't slice them all the way down.

Nice and sturdy with pretty easy to take in and out the different blade plates.(I wanna say though I always see 1 star reviews on mandolins due to people not using the guard or not wearing anti-cut gloves and getting big gashes, your putting force towards a blade with no safety what did you expect? Please be safe and look up how to cut certain things if your not sure.)

Am satisfied with it

This has cut my chopping time down to a third for the time it was taking me previously. I make lots of pickles and it was taking me so long to chop everything but this is fantastic! I use this for tomatoes, sliced first then put in, then onions in half then pushed through, works a treat in no time. I also use it to chop cauliflower for pickles and it has been just awesome, so glad I brought this!

I bought this to cut thin slices of potatoes for making home made potato chips. This really cuts the potato extremely thin and very consistent in thickness. Easy adjustment. It does All kinds of slicing and comes with a handy plastic storage box to keep all the blades. the blades are easy to take off, clean, store and put back on. Safety wise, if you use the fruit/vegetable holder, no chance of cutting yourself.When I made my first slices, I didn't think it was working. It was so effortless and smooth that I Thought the potato was just slipping on top of the blade and not cutting. Much to my surprise, I found all the slices underneath the cutter - it was actually cutting the potato but with very little resistance!The slices drop down under the slicer so you'll want to do your cutting on a cutting board.I opted for the free same day delivery. Got it within 2 hours. I was really surprised. Amazon Rocks!

This product blades are extremely sharp. I cut myself so bad that I had to get a stitch done after. Never use without guard . Otherwise a great product...
