ThundershirtDog Jacket for Anxiety, Green,Extra Extra Small

This is our second one! It has saved us my dog usd to try to climb into us - she was so frantic at the first clap of thunder. Now, she acts like nothing is happening at all!!

I bought a Thundershirt for me little dog who came to us from the local shelter at about age 3 and suffers frequent bouts of what we call "the shakes" (severe trembling & panting), from noises like the buzzing of a call phone on vibrate, the high-pitched beep of a smoke-alarm low-battery warning, and - almost every morning - some unknown noise that we can't hear and doesn't bother out other dog. I ordered a Thundershirt as soon as I heard about them, but didn't really see how it could help. We've had reason to use the shirt twice since it arrived and it actually did work. As soon as she started to shake I put it on and she stopped trembling within a few moments. It isn't a conventional shirt in that there are no arm/neck holes - it becomes one by wrapping around the dog's chest and middle with Velcro straps. There are detailed instructions for how to put it on - fortunately, because it arrives out of the package looking like nothing on earth. But after doing it once, you can put it on in the dark. We went by the size chart and got a small, and the critical middle part fits well (the chest straps are a little long, but their fit isn't that important, so it's fine). We're so happy to have found this product.4-1-2013: Just an update that we've had 3 occasions to use the shirt since this review, and it continues to calm our dog immediately after I put it on her. Also, our dog used to have these shaking/fear episodes constantly. Since the shirt arrived, there have been just these few that I mentioned. Either the mystery noise that used to frighten her so often went away (coincident with the arrival of her Thundershirt) or knowing she has the shirt comforts her somehow. The product literature does mention some reactions like this (she's too short to reach the drawer where I keep it but I did show her where it is). It's very odd - but great.

It was a different style than i had ordered before. It seemed a lil bit on the small sidethis time being too tight for my dog and i ordered small. I had a medium one which was too big and the private area got covered wearing the vest in medium...measure carefully to get correct fit. These shirts are great though and even can help to prevent dog scratching sides or belly if needed..

This is Mr. Peabody's second thunder shirt. We adopted him two years ago from a shelter, and learned that he is very reactive, territorial, resource-guarding, and afraid of thunder. This is all bad news when you have five other rescues (3 cats, 2 dogs) in the house and you're learning that two of the dogs should really be "only dogs." The first day we put his thunder shirt on him, we thought it just wasn't going to work. But after that, there was a remarkable change in his behavior--he wasn't as "nervous" and he wasn't as reactive; when it thunders he still hides under the bed. The best part is that he LOVES the shirt. When I wash it, he haunts me until I put it back on him. If he sees me with it in my hands, he is all over me. The only downside is that the fabric is a little too fragile for the punishment this shirt has to take, which is why we bought the second one.

Bought this for my golden retriever, she has extreme anxiety for thunder storms, fire works anything that makes a loud bang, she also jumps ion people when they come over.A typical storm she pants and drools all over the house runs from room to room jumps on us......it's awful. I see a small change she doesn't run from room to room. Example; last night a storm came in, as soon as it started with the lighting she started I put the thunder shirt on and she basically just sat next to my bed panting and drooling but after about 10 minutes finally settled down......Not sure if this will eventually help her fully and she will just ignore the storms and loud bangs?? Also with the shirt she has been calmer around strangers. I'm going to keep at it.......but I may need to add melatonin or another substance. I'll try to keep you posted......for the most part it's a good buy I would recommend it but be patient.

THIS WORKS! I tried the ThunderShirt on my dog, Emma, through 2 intense thunderstorms and riding in the car. Here are the results:Thunderstorms: BEFORE the shirt, Emma was a total wreck during storms. She would whine, pace, cry, bark, and would actually succumb to convulsions. She would shake so bad that our vet believed she'd have seizures. WITH the Thundershirt, she's a different dog. For the first 15-30 minutes of the shirt on, she still paces and whines. However, after a while of having it on, she usually curls up in her bed and stays very quiet. It's insane how much it impacts her! She will lay around and almost behave as if sedated! All FROM the shirt! It does make her low-energy. But once we remove the shirt, she goes write back to behaving normally! Her tail starts wagging and she trots around the house!Car Rides: BEFORE the shirt, Emma would get very antsy in the car. She'd whine and stay very unsettled. She'd lay down and sit up repeatedly. She was obviously uncomfortable. The results with the car were the same as with the storms: for about the first 15-30 minutes, she displayed the same behaviors pre-shirt. She'd whine some and seem very antsy. After some time, she laid down and just seemed content to enjoy the ride!Summary: If your dog is nervous for any reason, I would suggest trying this shirt. You definitely do want to put it on snuggly as we tried it looser at first, and our pooch seemed to respond better when it was quite tight. Make sure to give the shirt time, and make sure to try it for different scenarios. For sizing, our dog is about 27lbs, is short and is long. We got her a medium size, and it's perfect. A much bigger dog could fit the shirt. I would not suggest the medium for a much smaller dog as you want it to be tight. The actual ThunderShirt website gives specific pounds for sizes, so check there before choosing!Thank you THUNDERSHIRT!

I’m not sure if I got ripped off. It’s just a plain shirt. I don’t understand how this is any different from all my dogs other shirts. Looks to be of super poor quality, not impressed.

Ich habe das Shirt für meine Yorkshire Hündin für Silvester gekauft. Normalerweise mag sie es weder etwas anzuziehen, geschweige denn Klettverschluss. Silvester ist sie beim ersten Knall in der hintersten Ecke versteckt, hechelt stark, ist gar nicht mehr ansprechbar und es kann sogar passieren, dass sie sich vor Angst einnässt.Ich war mir nicht sicher, ob das wirklich klappt mit dem Shirt... wurde aber eines besseren belehrt. Mit einer Eingewöhnungszeit zum Tragen, kam sie zuletzt sogar freudig an um sich anziehen zu lassen. Und Silvester: zwar hatte sie nach wie vor Angst, allerdings bei weitem nicht mehr wie sonst. sie war durchgehend ansprechbar, hechelte nur selten und hat zwischendurch auch ab und zu ein leckerchen genommen.Absolut empfehlenswert!

Fantastic product- my elderly grumpy Welsh Terrier immediately calms down and feels safe when I out his coat on. He is anxious and reacts to any loud noises but wearing his coat calm’s right down. I would recommend this coat to anyone who’s dog shows anxiety.

Foster dog is not only terrified of thunder, but rain also, to the point he claws the walls panting furiously.Was sceptical about these thundershirts, but felt there was nothing to lose.Whilst it doesn't stop the panic panting, it certainly takes the edge off, enough for him to settle more.For the other dog, it has stopped him trembling.Will see how these thundershirts work during the dreaded fireworks season.

Ich wurde postiv überrascht!Meines Erachtens zeigte das Shirt Wirkung bei meinem Hund.Ich habe einen Hund, welcher sehr sehr sensibel und ängstlich auf Gewitter oder aktuell Silvester reagiert.Das geht so weit, dass er letztes Jahr 1 woche nach Silvester strickt nicht aus dem Haus wollte! :-(Dieses Jahr hatten wir es nun mit dem Thunder-Shirt probiert und zusätzlich noch Tabletten + Stecker von Adamptil verwendet.Und was soll ich sagen? Mein Hund konnte sich nach jedem Böller oder jeder Rakete schneller wieder beruhigen und sogar gegen 00:30 Uhr sich selbst herunterfahren (mit mir eingeschlossen im Bad) und den Kopf ablegen ohne hecheln oder zittern!!! Sogar ist er am nächsten morgen direkt morgens kurz Schwanzwedeln rausgeganen und am abends ebenfalls kurz. Am 02.01.19 war alles wieder normal und er konnte das Spazierengehen wieder relaxed genießen.Wie ich finde ein SUPER Fortschritt! :-)Ich kann das Shirt nur empfehlen, meinem Großen hat es geholfen.P.s.: Wir hatten das Shirt schon 1-2 Tage vor Silvester abends und beim Gassi benutzt.Dort konnte ich keine all zu große Veränderung feststellen, da er so ein sehr gelassener und ruhiger hund ist, welcher auch sehr gut alleine bleiben kann.Produkt ist weiterzuempfehlen!!
