A Dusting of Snow

Good so far, maybe Great later?
Gave this to my Mom who used to be an avid reader then lost her memory to dementia. She had to stop reading because by the time she got to the bottom of a paragraph she had forgotten the beginning, and finally was at the point she couldn't keep a full sentence in her mind long enough to make sense of it. She read this book and was bored because not much happens, but amazing thing is She Could Read It. She could understand it. Short sentences with short paragraphs. She retained it enough of the book to know it was a little boring. So after reading this book she went back to try to read a full novel and was again frustrated that she couldn't read a normal book. So in time, as her dementia increases, I think this book will be perfect for her.I have 2 of these books and plan to get the rest.

Delightful and Refreshing in so many ways!
This book is even more delightful than the last one we enjoyed by this Author. This book is written in the first person (I), thus suitable for either gender reading it. The reader gets to enjoy a nice adventure outdoors in a reasonably light snow fall. During this afternoon adventure various kinds of wildlife and birds are encountered and discussed. A Dusting Of Snow leaves the reader smiling, and even more so the smiles on the face of the loved one reading it. This book is excellent for those who need a story that keeps readers from feeling belittled due to their current mental challenges. We found this one to be particularly refreshing. This book is good for not only those suffering with dementia, but for other adults with cognitive issues. I'm grateful to have these books available and have been sharing their existence with my friend and other family members.

Far from a book
This isn’t even considered a book. Cliff notes are even thicker than this! Such a waste of $11 for a thin, few pages. My mom is 95 , has dementia but she loves BOOKS. This is like an embarrassment of a gift for her. The seller should not advertise as a book with 28 pages.

A great gift for dementia patients
I ordered this book as a Christmas gift for my nana with dementia. This was the first book she picked up and read on Christmas Day! The cover really looks like a Nicolas Sparks book, an author she LOVED before reading novels became too difficult in the last few months. The sensory information in this book was especially good because we are in an area with snow and it seemed to be easy for her to relate to the sounds and feelings described in the story. It's a simple story but it really just feels like a small novella in large print, and most importantly my nana could read it on her own.

Great purchase
My mother always loved to read but with her onset of dementia she has lost interest. I gave her this book and when I visited her 2 days later she couldn't stop talking about how much she enjoyed it. She was so happy that I immediately bought her the other books is the series.

Way to expensive for what you get.
I gave this to my mom for Christmas. She is early-ish Alzheimer's. The book is great, for its purpose. I was totally shocked at it's size. Its maybe 35 or less pages. I purchased a 3 set for over $35. The price is insane for these. Will not be purchasing any more.

Well done, mom had great joy sharing her journey.
My mom has always been a voracious reader, tears of joy to see her believe she could grasp reading again.

Lovely to see the enjoyment reading gives to Dad
Is there any more? - that was music to our ear. Dad was always a keen reader but since his diagnosis he has slowly lost interest in books and reading in general. This book is simply written and the layout is very clear. I feel that with dad it is very important to find activities that are ability appropriate without being childish and this book allows that - written for an adult but not over complicated it has been wonderful to see dad's enjoyment with this book. He has read it from cover to cover on more than one occasion and also chosen to read aloud to us, something that we thought he could no longer do. We will be looking at more books from this series.

An insult to an adult's attention
Really contemptuous of this weak effort, truly falsely described. I expected bright, engaging pictures, not pages covered in grey copy (publishing term for lack of illustration). I was expecting a story that would not insult my mother's intelligence - Just because her memory has lights out moments and cannot follow a storyline, does NOT mean that the narrative should be at pre-school level.

Great to read with adults who have dementia
read these books to my Grandma who has dementia. She also has cataracts so she can’t read to herself but she enjoys the stories and comments on the stories.
