A Handbook for EMC Testing and Measurement (Materials, Circuits and Devices)

Great reference book for understanding basic and advanced EMC concepts. Good background information on common emission and immunity test methods. Only a 4 star rating because the standards mentioned in the book are so very old. Most of the EMC standards mentioned were replaced with newer versions 10-15 years ago. For example, IEC 801 series is now IEC 61000-4 series. The book publish date is 1994, so that's 22 years ago. IEC/EN standards get updated every 5-6 years. Technical concepts remain the same. Wifi, Bluetooth and other wireless networks did not exist in 1994, so none of that stuff is in this book.

Terrific service and book

This book provides an exceptional combination of clarity and precision. It is also well organized, and comprehensive in its treatment of EMC Test/Measurement. Examples are well-focused on the essential aspects of subject areas, and flow smoothly from task or problem definition, through procedures, to interpretation of results. A consistent proportion of practical recommendations and cautions is provided for each topic area.Given all of the above, this book can serve as an academic reference, a system design/development resource, a test-methods manual, or a lab resource.With some emphasis on UK/European examples, the book effectively communicates to the US, UK, European and international EMC communities, in an exceptionally accurate, precise and easily understood manner, for both theoretical and practical topics.
