I was sceptical, but for the price I decided to give it a go. I had used cake slicers before, with not much success. I made a wedding cake with various size sponges (6,8 and 10 inch). I need them sliced perfectly.I was very pleasantly surprised how easy it was, and it worked brilliantly. Every cake sliced very neatly exactly where I wanted it, and I’m a straight line.Very pleased with this product, and I highly recommend.

Exactly what you see and great

They work okay, but honestly, you'd probably be faster, and do a better job by being careful and judging it by eye. You actually lose a lot of blade length because you cannot make a cut with the part of the blade where they are attached and you need a bit of room to 'saw', so if the cake is really small and/or the knife blade is really long they might be okay. Maybe with a razor-sharp, really long knife, and lots of practice they would be worth it, but I think they're a bit of a gimmick, to be honest!

Not so easy to use at first but value for money

So on paper this seems a great idea, i had made 5 7inch round cakes and needed to half them all. I was pleased when i opened it, its a sturdy, bulky well made thing. The longest knife i had was a carving knife or bread knife (not being a professional baker) putting 1 close as possible to the handle and 1 on the tip, i then couldn't cut though as the space between them was so small... Dont borher with this unless you have a knife 4 inches longer than the width of your cake. Would probably be ok on a little 4 inch mini cake maybe x

Didn’t work as I had hoped. Tricky to use and very fiddly. Not going to use this at all sadly. More for the bin
