This made a perfect deer shield for my little tree. I lost my previous little tree last winter, even though it was deer resistant as far as leaves, when the deer snapped the trunk in mid winter. This went on fairly easily, with standard fingers applying zip ties manipulation required. I put two together, but they are obviously extremely adjustable to accommodate tree size, could have used anywhere from one piece to the whole package. The finished loop of two is nicely stiff and stands on its own, 48 inches tall. Deer are going to have trouble getting past that.

Not that easy to install, but they would be fine if you only have a few trees to put them around, but if you have a lot to do then this would probably drive you nuts getting them fastened around them. But they works just fine after you get them installed. They should have put something like hooks on the overlapping ends to make them easier to install.

Quick and easy install

I saw these tree guards as I walked with friends encircling trees spaced along a rural field. I was interested because we have planted 4 sunset maple trees in our yard recently. It was obvious, as I went over to touch them, that they are made of strong but flexible plastic. They are about 4 feet tall so they do prevent deer rubbing and killing trees. They also prevent weedeater damage from those who won't get down and pull weeds close to the tender tree trunk. On my advice, our Garden Club bought a set to protect tender, young trees in a memorial garden we helped create in our town. They are relatively inexpensive and effective. There's no sense buying trees to plant unless you're going to protect them from damage. That's just throwing money away.

I was a little suprised that it is all plastic. I thought it would be metal with a plastic wrapped around it. I just recently installed them, so we will see how they hold up in a Michigan winter.I bought them because the deer rubbed the bark off three of my newly planted trees. This may be enough to deter them. I wrapped them with tree wrap before intalling the plastic wraps.Time will tell.

We have a large population of deer - the bucks have damaged one of our trees with their antlers. This product worked great since the (3) trees we wrapped were all different in circumference. Seem to work the best starting in the middle and working to the top. Definitely used (6) ties per wrap. The appearance is favorable as well - not an eyesore. Had a great experience! MTD

It came quickly - just enough time to get these guards up before frost and deer season this winter. It protects my investment in new trees this year.
