I have read several books by Pippa and I have not had1 that I didn’t like. She must be a crazy funny lady and brings lots of love and joy to the characters.Overview. Mackenzie is the biggest fireballs “baseball team” fan. She has decorated her house, her smart car, and is the mascots campaign queen. But when the team does a vote for a new mascot campaign, she steals one of the costumes and interferes with Brooks Elliot’s (the newest player to join the team) plan to loose his virginity things all change. In the process of helping the team, she helps Brooks Be a better player and teammate. But even more, they find love and laughter all along the way. Brooks had to learn to love not only a new team, but a new home, new life from his New York family, and find the love of the game again. Mackenzie took it all seriously and learn to love more than the game, but each person as a person not a baseball god.

If I could give this one six stars I would!!!! OMG. Hilarious! Each time I thought it could not get funnier it did! And yet it was also romantic and tender and heart-warming … Oh, and oh so funny!!! Silly funny!!! Giggles funny! Laugh till you cry funny. The dog collar!!! The Apartment décor! The superstitions. Yes, there are a couple of sex scenes…. And even they have some funny moments. The bonus epilogue brought tears. Warm-hearted-tears.

You are my new writer! I have enjoyed this series so much! I plan to read every one! I have laughed and laughed. Thank you for your humour. It really makes me happy in this sometimes cynical place we live in. I love the characters and the Family love. Family is the best thing unfortunately we don't always have it! It feels good to become part of it while reading your books.

Such a good story about having faith in what you love. Falling in love while having so much fun is something we should all be so happy to experience.

You'll be laughing your head off from start to finish. I really liked how the characters' relationship grew and how they changed over time.

What a bright ray of sunshiney happiness this was! I always love Pippa Grant’s quirky rom coms, so I knew I was in for a good read, but this has got to be one of my absolute FAVORITES from her. It’s light and funny and oh so sweet with a couple that you will be rooting for from start to finish. I loved this hero once I got to know him a little better - Brooks is kinda broken at the beginning of this book, and it takes some TLC from our heroine before he finds his happy again. It’s refreshingly delightful from beginning to end, and the perfect book to kick off this new series (though there are plenty of appearances from old favorites)!The story follows Brooks, a baseball player who seems to have a curse. Every time he gets past second base with a woman, his game falls apart. For that reason… he’s never gotten any further than that with a woman. When Brooks was playing for a winning team, the sacrifice to his love life seemed worth it, but now that’s he’s been traded to the worst team in the league, well… he’s ready to make a few changes. Desperate to lose his v-card to any woman who will have him, Brooks turns into a bit of a horndog. The only problem? Super fan Mackenzie knows about the curse, and she is determined to stop him before he crosses that line. While Brooks might think Mackenzie is a special kind of crazy, it’s not long before the two shift from strangers with conflicting goals to something much deeper.This might just be my favorite read from Grant, and that’s saying a lot. It’s quirky and kinda ridiculous but so, so funny. I loved both of these characters and their strange journey to happy ever after, which is actually surprising given how much OW drama there is at the start of this. Naturally, Brooks is trying to lose his v-card, so it’s not without its drama, but Grant handles everything so well that it was never really a problem for me. And the payoff… so, so worth it. I loved the buildup of intimacy and the changes we see in both characters throughout the course of the book. It’s light and funny from start to finish, but there’s that underlying layer of depth that I love about Pippa’s books. All in all, a really great, fun read, and I cannot wait for more from this series. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC via Give Me Books (then purchased it for my collection), and am voluntarily leaving a review of this quirky romance.

I absolutely loved this book. Brooks and Mackenzie are my new favorite couple. I loved thier story. Pippa does nor disappoint in any of her books.

This is my first book by this author and I found this book hard to review as it really was quite strange. I am a fan of paranormal romance so I am normally comfortable with strange. In reality this is a 3.5* for me, it was quite funny and had a nice romance with a happy ending but did feel at times like I was in the twilight zone. They took superstitions a bit too far and I would definitely recommend a sports psychologist to that team! 😂 Having said all this it is an easy, laidback read.

Once you get past the permanent madness of die hard baseball fans, a mascot competition and a male 30 year old virgin (superstitious belief - don't ask!), a whacky sense of humour and more sensual intrigue than you can shake a stick at - this is one helluva love story. I was by turns intrigued, perplexed and in awe at the level of attraction between the two leads as I'm sure you will be too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 💕❤💘💋

These books just keep getting better and better!I only found Pippa just over a week ago and I've just finished book number 5! They are so addictive!!This is Mackenzie and Brooks story, Mackenzie the number 1, over the top superstitious, funny and a tad nutty Fiery fan! She becomes mute when faced with the 'Gods' until she meets Brooks the newest player who she already knows far to much about, and she knows she's going to have to overcome her fears to keep him away from the ladies 😘 much to Brooks dismay, especially when he realises she knows that he's a virgin and that she's doing everything in her power to make sure he stays that way!!!An excellent, crazy, weird, hilarious and fun book that is most definitely a must read!!!

Wow! This book has it all! A battle of the mascots, drag queens, swearing dog collar and so much chemistry! I laughed and cried and totally fell in love with a baseball obsessed woman called Mackenzie who goes mute in the presence of baseball players but is just a little bonkers over superstitions! Can she stop Brooks Elliott, the latest signing from having sex so that he doesn't lose his baseball greatness? What happens when they become friends and the chemistry flows? This book was a perfect read that entertained on every page!
