Hello Green-eyed Girl, Charming Charlie can be surfaced washed with a damp cloth dipped in soapy water, followed by a towel dampened with plain water to remove any soapy residue. Air dry. Also, the lion can be hand washed in warm water with a mild detergent if especially soiled. Rinse thoroughly, squeezing any excess water out and allow to air dry. Due to the possible variation in water temperature and types of detergents, Manhattan Toy does not guarantee the toy will maintain its pre-wash look/finish; fabric my need to be brushed or fluffed once dry. We cannot recommend machine washing or drying Charlie with confidence because we have not tested the outcome of this cleaning method. We appreciate your interest and inquiry.
