For those having difficulty getting the tray to slide open, assuming nothing has been distorted too much by fiddling, it pushes out very easily from the rear! So push before you pull!This is working well and has delivered several satisfying "pops" already! I haven't bothered to go and look as I know from experience that a "popped" insect is in a myriad pieces. A fly caught in the turbulence may drop with singed wings, or worse. In other words, there is little point in thinking that 5 "pop"s with only one obviously dead fly means that it is failing. This is why you are told not to use over a food preparation area.Just leave it alone and every day or so push the tray from rear to front and remove to clean it out. Brilliant device! Well made and cheap!

I bought this Bug Zapper because my previous one stopped working and the replacement bulbs would have cost more than a new one, so it is good that this one comes with a spare set of bulbs! Now people should be aware that this is exceptionally large being almost the width of a doorway, which maybe a good thing, not a major issue for me but could be for some people.It is miss leading saying 20/30/40 Watts because it only seems to come in a 40-Watt version and the appliance itself does not have a switch to only have on one bulb for example.While it works it doesn't seem as good as my previous version, but it works well enough for me not to need to return it.For me there are two issues cleaning is not as easy as it makes out and it weakens the structure, so while I have given it a full clean, I will from now on only be brushing it clean until a bulb needs changing.

After wasting money on products that were ineffective was over the moon with results of this equipment! It’s brilliant & very effective.Living on a farm we get more than our fair share of flies & highly recommend. The only thing to be aware of is that it does give a loud zap when it kills flies but you soon get used to the noise. It’s well worth the investment. Well packaged & arrived ahead of scheduled delivery date. 😁

My flat it's next to a green area, I have insects/flies coming into my flat and this machine couldn't catch even a single flies. I tried for a few days and nothing. Today I even tried to follow the insect with the light on couldn't make any difference. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME ON THIS.

Good build quality and very effective, killing flies from barely visible gnats though to wasps.Cleaning is slightly awkward as the catch tray is a bit of a tight fit. It's only plastic so a careful trim with a sharp blade fixed that.

It was left on 24/7 so I would have expected it to run for years. Bought it July, quietly died in March, presumably from some component failure.

Does the job but only problem is that it makes loud pop when it zaps a fly but that doesn't bother me as I prefer to have this and no flies coming in my home in the summer. It's not easy to clean but I've got around that now. I give it a gentle shake and then hoover around metal cage.

Wollte die 40 W Variante mit 2 x 20 W Lampe, das UK bedeutet das es mit einem englischen Netzstecker ausgestattet ist. Das wäre schön gewesen wenn das auch so in der Beschreibung gestanden hätte. Im Stecker befindet sich noch eine Sicherung, so dass ich nicht einfach das Kabel tauschen kann.
