Excellent for re-focusing on moderation instead of self-absorbtion
I have gone through this Bible study twice by myself and once with a group of women at church. It is excellent in re-framing a woman's perspective on weight loss and the true motivation that one should have to lose weight. Brestin helps a woman focus on God and a desire to repent from sinful behavior and to find satisfaction in God and not in self-indulgence. The ability to lose weight permanently comes from changing behavior, becoming moderate, and asking the Lord to help. She teaches that if we learn to eat the Word of God and drink in God's faithfulness and love, our cravings for things that do not satisfy will be reduced. It was so helpful to me to remember that only God can satisfy! I lost 30 pounds through this study and, if I remind myself of the truths in this book and look to God for help, I can continue to maintain the loss and be healthier.

More Than a Diet Book
This book goes for seven weeks and helps you to see that overeating is wrong, unhealthy and sinful. You read a short lesson and answer questions as in many other diet books. This one causes you to do a lot of introspection. It gets to the root of why you overeat, and don't want to stop.The book uses the Lord's Table eating plan. I think moderation is the healthiest way to eat, but they say that thousands of people have used the eating plan and lost weight. It includes one fasting day each week. They give you several options of how to eat, including Weight Watchers and South Beach. In my opinion these are healthier ways of eating than the Lord's Table option.They show you how to pray the Psalms. It's what you do when you don't get to partake of a meal. You feast on the Lord. I love the book and am glad I bought it.

Woman of Moderation
I lost 13 pounds after reading this book. It also helped me see areas in my life where I needed to be more moderate. I would recommend this book to any woman who wants a simpler life and a "diet" plan that makes sense. I plan to read this book again this year. It is a great book to read every January as we start a new year.

Christian diet
This is a great book to help put over eating in perspective. It helps put God as the focus instead of food and gives the dieter power to break the overeating cycle.. All things are achievable in christ.

I wanted to love this but there's so many quotes from other books ...
I wanted to love this but there's so many quotes from other books you really should just get the Lords Table by Setting captives free. Its a far better daily study for mind body transformation

Inspiring and very helpful
I ordered this book to learn how to eat in moderation. This has been very helpful, and the scripture very appropriate. She has you reading the Bible several times a day, a very good thing for me. I highly recommend it.

A must for every food lover
This book will lead you into freedom from bondage of any kind to food. Be it over or under eating it's got the answer. I'd strongly recommend that you at least do the course with someone praying for you every day at minimum, ideally it's best to do in a group so that you've got more accountability and others who are going through similar for moral support etc.
