Diary of a 5th Grade Outlaw (Diary of a 5th Grade Outlaw Book 1)

I used this book to tutor a reluctant fourth grade reader. She likes to have pictures in the book but I wanted to avoid a graphic novel since many have very few words on a page. She loved this book. We discussed book elements together, especially the character-driven story and the author's use of suspense at the end of the chapter to get you to read on. Reluctant readers need that motivation. It was very enjoyable and we bought the second one in the series.

My son is in 4th grade and he loves this book. We are going to order the second one because he loved it so much. He is supposed to read 30 minutes a day and asked if he could go over his time (of course) because he was so into the book. 5 stars!

Daughter in 5th grade lived it will be buying more from this author. She loves Dork Diaries and this is right along the same lines.
