Great strong Lock
Very tough, heavy, well-made locks but a little dry lube makes them easier to open.

Perfect for shipping container
I had trouble finding a lock to go inside the factory lockbox on my shipping container, the Abus 9280 worked great. Locked, it only shows slightly at the bottom of the lockbox in picture #3. It is huge but there is no way for someone to break it container except by torch or grinder. The smaller Abus my work as well.

For a Germany company why are these made in China.
I purchased these locks for a cargo container and they were shown being used for what I needed and they are to big for my container. Also the made in China was covered over with a black marker.UPDATE: from what I understand ABUS is a German company but not necessarily produced there but it's still curious why MADE IN CHINA was blacked out. The locks are huge and seem extremely well made so I wanted to be fair in my review. Although I saw the exact locks being used on a shipping container, a customer had taken a photo of it in use and shared it on their review, it was not the sellers photo. But when I went to use it in the same application it would not fit. I had to buy a lock similar to this one but one step down in size from this one. I will return these locks unless I can find another use for them. But understand if you do need one this size it appears to be a great lock. So I'm changing my one star to a 4 star.

Go for it
This is a great lock and serves its purpose very well. Locking mechanism is smooth (you can use triflow to lube it too). Pay attention to the model. The shackle thickness differs and you’ll want to confirm it fits your use case. The Abus site will have that.

Working great.
I’m using it on my shipping container here in Arizona. So far it’s been a good lock and is standing up well to the very dusty/sandy conditions.

frozen im the cold
you can get the keys copied at lowes. it is axxess+ number 71 keys. however there is this stupid little tab that you have to cut off the back to get the replacement key to fit in the lock. i took a picture of it. i managed to cut it off with a hacksaw and then smooth it out with 80 grit sandpaper.i decided to test the all weather claim. yeah water will not make it rust. however, the water froze and caused my shackle to get stuck closed. im sure when it warms up it will open again but i decided not to force it since i heard the end of the shackle is desinged to break off when you try to pull hard on it as a security feature. i will try to put some type of grease in it to see if that helps prevent water from getting in it and freezing.
